CCH & ST, from my little understanding, even though the unemployment number has improved, the wage growth is still very minimal, if there is at all, due to slacks in the system. Therefore there is still very little inflation expectation. Hence rate hike soon is not likely, I think.
Even though the experts think US is a bright spot, don't you think the policy makers have to consider condition in Europe & China, before deciding to increase rate?
Bear in mind too we are in extra low interest rates environment, thus any hike is only a normalisation, so what is the big fuss really. As we talk, the markets are discounting possibilities. The price movements of commodities are showing unwinding underway. The markets are adjusting. So there may not be big shocks if really rates go up.
