Total volume traded on the day ASB sold 20M was only 14M.
How can they sell 20M in the market, must be off market deal....
....so, there was also a big buyer to buy from them.
ASB and EPF has been locking in Realized gain for their dividend closing at the end of this month....dividend declared can only be from Realized Gain and not Marked to Market gain, thus the current selling....it's for their book closing.

MAYBANK is expected to demonstrate operational resilience whilst sustaining its position as the leading bank in terms of market share. We believe MAYBANK’s ability to provide the most sustainable returns via its consistent market leading dividend yields (7%−8%) warrants further accumulation of its shares.

People who count small small numbers do not understand "percentage" ...haha
If your returns on your 1M is 4.5%, you get 45,000
...if your returns is 6.5%, you get 65,000
....the difference of 2% for 1m is 20,000 each year, understand??
...not everyone count small small numbers, that's why many rich uncles and aunties hold Maybank in their portfolio.

Maybank paid 66.5 sen dividend in 2021 and closed the year at 8.30
.......paid 58 sen in 2022 and closed the year at 8.70
.....paid 59 sen in 2023 and closed the year at ???
....take out your calculator and do the maths on percentage gain for the past 3 years if you have bought at 2020.

Projecting a 13.1% Qoq Growth in 4Q23 Net Profit
We are projecting a net profit of RM2.67bn for Maybank in 4Q23, representing a growth of 13.1% qoq (+23% yoy). We expect this to be achieved on the back of better contributions from its insurance business (compared to negative contributions in 3Q23 and 4Q22), stable credit costs, flattish or a marginal increase in net interest income, and low single-digit rise in overheads (the above are all qoq trends).
Guidance by Maybank for FY23F
During the conference call on 22 Nov 23, Maybank guid ed for the following for FY23F: 1) a c.25bp contraction in NIM, 2) a net credit charge-off rate of 30-35bp, and 3) ROE of 10.5- 11%.
Reiterate Add on Maybank
We reiterate our Add call on Maybank premised on the potential re-rating catalysts from the write-back of its management overlay and capital management initiatives, which could lead to an increase in dividend payout ratio and ROE. Potential downside risks would be a deterioration in loan growth and asset quality. We retain our FY23-25F EPS forecasts but raise our DDM-based target price (TP) from RM10.30 to RM10.60 (cost of equity: 10.1%; terminal growth rate: 4%) as we roll over our TP to end-CY24F.

@1invest1, P/B 1.2 ......is lower than PBB but much higher than most other banks which trades below 1 times.
Even though MBB is a high yield low risk stock but not everyone will want to invest in a low beta stocks....different ppl has different investment mentality...that's why some profit n some loose money :)
...about that "non investor" .....I don't want to comment on him or have anything to do with him....I don't want to bring myself to his level.....that's why I don't visit Genting forum anymore.

@1invest1, Thanks.
....but I don't quite agree how analyst consider the price to be all time high by factoring in the dividend amount....if calculate this way, then can say current price is 20 or 30 with all the so many years' dividend added on.
...to me, at 8.76.....YTD only upped 6 sen :)

“Banks have displayed resilience and achieved solid earnings in the recent quarterly results. We like Malayan Banking Bhd, RHB Bank Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd for their solid dividend yield while AMMB Holdings Bhd for its attractive valuations,” said Thong.
