The Vic/P57 Sea Lion-1 exploration well is expected to start drilling in August 2015. Sited in shallow water,close to shore and on trend with other prolific Gippsland Basin oil/gas fields means that even a modest 11mmbbl oil discovery could be economic. Shareholders have a near term chance of solid value upside.

–24.9% interest The Sea Lion-1 prospect has an expected 11mmbbl oil target with upside if multiple horizons are found. As I wrote this letter last year we were
on the verge of drilling the exciting
Sea Lion Prospect in VIC/P57 in the
Gippsland Basin. For a variety of reasons
beyond the control of the VIC/P57
Joint Venture, the delivery of the West
Telesto jack up rig has been significantly
delayed. Nonetheless, as I write, the
delivery of the rig to the Joint Venture
is anticipated in the fourth quarter, with
Sea Lion-1 programmed to spud shortly
after handover.

I am very excited about finally drilling
this prospect as it is arguably the last
undrilled ‘top Latrobe closure’ within the
Gippsland Basin. Top Latrobe closures
contain the vast majority of trapped
hydrocarbons in the Gippsland Basin.
The Rosedale Fault System, on which
Sea Lion is located, has a success rate for
discoveries in the order of 70%

Certainly the Sea Lion prospect has
many positive attributes including
being on trend and adjacent to West
Seahorse and Seahorse oil fields,
delineated by reprocessed 3D seismic,
simple structural inversion feature and
interpreted to contain excellent shore
face reservoir sands. I believe it is one
of the best oil prospects currently in the
offshore of Australia, with an internal
risking of just under one in two.
An advantage for Sea Lion is that a
discovery could be tied into the nearby
planned West Seahorse development
thereby reducing the capital outlay for
production relative to a stand-alone
development. Following the monetisation
of our interest in the West Seahorse
Oil Field last year, 3D Oil would again
explore all avenues to also monetise any
discovery at Sea Lion.

What is the Risk Reward @36.5 cents?

Risk of major margin call?? Its very unlikely now

Risk of further share price dilution due to private placement? Its in the share price already

Risk of No Aussie oil? say risk of - 3 cents

Got Aussie oil but not commercially viable at current oil price? say + 5 cents....say 50% chance of it happening

Got Aussie oil but commercially viable at current oil price..say minimum + 15 cents...50% chance of it happening

Assuming zero knowledge of Aussie oil NOW, the potential reward is say 50% X 5 cents + 50% X 15 cents= 10 cents

So the Risk now is -3 cents and the potential reward is +10 cents. As long as the Risk Reward is at least 1:3, it is worth a trade

Now take a look at 3D prior to its suspension in Aussie land...How did its share price behave recently? It went up, right???

So if one factor 3D price behavior into the Risk Reward, the RISK REWARD ratio could possibly be higher than 1:3

Stock price crash triggered by major margin calls. Closed lowest in its entire price history @34 cents on 3/11/2015 with highest traded volume of 292.93 million shares. Next day it gapped up and closed @36.5 cents with reduced traded volume of 197.131 million shares. It was reported by Bursa on 5/11/2015 that 50 million shares were transferred on 3/1/2015 from Hibiscus Upstream Sdn Bhd to MIDF Amanah Investment Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd Pledged Securities Account for Hibiscus Upstream Sdn Bhd (MGN-HUS0001M). That triggered the stock to close higher on 4/11/2015 and risk of major further margin calls has abated.

RSI, Stochastics indicated extreme oversold status. From TA perspective, it is a BUY. Without the margin calls this stock will probably hover around 55 to 60 cents pending results of its drill tests in Australia.

If no oil found in the Australian asset, stock price will probably remain at current level with slight upward bias.

If there is oil in the Australian asset, stock price will be boosted upward depending on the drill test results.

Will the stock price nose dive again? Very unlikely as 50 million shares had already been transferred on 3/11/2015

OK..Name it dinosaur Oil then...hahahaha

Shale oil field has short life ..say max 2 to 3 years. Max production is in the first year and thereafter it drops off exponentially. So there is constant need to frack wells to get new oil supplies. Now that rig counts had dropped significantly in USA new shale oil supplies will not materialize in the future . So it is timely for Hibiscus to work towards ascertaining the oil reserves of its oil fields and into monetizing its oil field assets.

Saudi Arabia and its allies changed the game as it was losing market share and wanted to regain lost market share and further increase its market share by killing off the shale oil producers in USA and consequently Rig counts in USA had dropped significantly since end 2014.

Crude Oil price will consolidate with upside bias up to USD 65/bbl in the future years say in next 1.5 to 2 years. The Saudis will want to sell at higher prices but dont want to invite the Shale oil producers to be back into biz.

I doubt that this tactic of Saudi Arabia and its allies can be sustained over the longer term...on longer term world oil demand will rise but production of new assets will take time to bring in new supplies as capex for new field development had been cut by oil majors. Besides production of existing producing fields will also decline.

I wont be surprised that sometime in future the market will decide for the new price of crude oil upwards. In a way it is timely for Hibiscus to be in this Oil & gas biz as it had been investing over the past 2 years!!!

Well you ought to know about its biz model, its biz strategy, its biz management before u even put in your money. This is mandatory procedure for me. I cant speak for others and I dont intend to.

I do understand that the early investors who went in were frustrated but not in my case. I just went in 2 days ago and am still in the money and I understand that it takes time to bring assets into production. Now they had already located the assets, must ascertain the identified well potential of the assets and monetize the assets that has good potential.

U need not wait too long for that to materialize unlike the early investors who had already waited for a much longer time.

Good biz strategy, good biz model and competent management who know the biz. It is well connected, positioned in the right locations...Norway, North Sea, Oman, Australia. Crude oil price had already bottomed, is consolidating now with upside bias in the future.

This is a high risk biz that will consume capital to acquire and realize future value from the assets acquired. It had already discovered oil in an unexplored basin in Oman and is now awaiting the latest drilling results in Australia.

The task ahead now is to ascertain the oil field reserves and thereafter monetize the assets that has good potential.

I would rather focus on its biz model... the competency level of its management , the riskiness of its biz model...fully understand the biz risks taken todate versus the potential rewards...and most important....Is its share price at its highest level now or at its lowest level since it was listed versus what its management had performed todate and what assets been invested by the company to date...thereafter every investor would then formulate his/her own risk reward decision which I assume all will do but it may not be the case for some...Lets be patient to wait for the drilling results in Australia.....Its so near but yet sooooooo far...maybe sleepness nights for some but not me... hahahaha

Hmmm....In forest fires...one can fight forest fire by controlled burning to kill off the potential future fuel source against the oncoming forest fires??? Controlled burning means creating a man made fire break...to stop the oncoming fire by depriving it of its fuel source before it feeds on it

or...pray and hope for rain to come speedily to envelop and kill off the ongoing fire...

or...detonating an oil well fire to remove the oxygen and starve the existing fire of oxygen and thereby killing off the oil well fire or detonating a forest fire..

or...just pour water over a small fire in your small localized vicinity...

Well the above is about reacting to combating a fire.....the real proactive action is to come out with strategic actions to minimize the risk of fire happening at any one time... hmm... does this make any sense to anyone...

This Stock is extremely oversold.

Traded volume yesterday @292.93 million shares was the highest on record and closing price was 34cents although it hit its lowest price momentarily @25.5 cents.... Today it Gapped up at opening and closed higher @36.5 cents. Todays traded volume @197.13 million shares was the second highest on record but lower than yesterday's close but it closed higher @36.5 cents than yesterday's closing price @34 cents

This stock has hit bottom yesterday and will continue to rebound from its low.

Hmm...now its 2.29 from a mere 60 cents in late 2014..Why? It is simple...It has a good biz model with good competent management ...its profits blessed by the weakened RM.

Stock has hit bottom 11 weeks ago and is consolidating sideways. Good time to accumulate this stock.
