TAS (FV RM1.57 - BUY) Result Note: Another Set Of Good Results


* TAS' 1HFY14 results were within expectations, with core net profit surging 145% y-o-y to MYR12.5m, driven by its historic MYR418m orderbook on hand and accounted for 54% of our full-year estimate

* On a quarterly basis, 2QFY14 revenue was higher at MYR49.0m, compared with MYR29.6m in 1QFY14, primarily due to revenue recognition from the sale of a harbour tug in 2QFY14.

* As at end-Dec 2013, TAS has secured a historic orderbook of MYR418m, thereby securing future quarters' profitability. The MYR418m orderbook is equivalent to 3.0x FY13 revenue of MYR138m.

* We reiterate our BUY call on the stock, with an unchanged FV of MYR1.57, based on FY14F EPS of 13.1 sen that is pegged to a 12x P/E - a 25% discount to its 4-year average P/E of 16x. We deem this valuation fair, given that at a 12x P/E, this implies a low 3-year average PEG ratio of 0.13x - RHB

KUALA LUMPUR: TAS Offshore Bhd’s earnings jumped 200% to RM7.26mil in the second quarter ended Nov 30, 2013 from RM2.42mil a year ago, aided by the sale of a tug boat.

TAS Offshore, whose core activities are shipbuilding and ship repairs, said on Monday its revenue rose 59.6% to RM49.04mil from RM30.72mil. Its earnings per share were 4.13 sen compared with 1.38 sen.

For the first half ended Nov 30, 2013, its earnings increased by 208% to RM15.79mil from RM5.12mil in the previous corresponding period. Its revenue was 62.2% to RM78.68mil from RM48.49mil - thestar
