謝金河認為，由御用經濟學家親口說出中國要過苦日子「非常不尋常」。因為，別人說中國經濟不好，中共總是歸諸惡意攻擊，會被封鎖帳號，這回是御用經濟學家示警，而且是在已經被中央監管的信報刊出，這更不尋常。

他的看法是，中央有意透過體制內經濟學家之口，來對仍生活在「厲害我的國」的蟻民打預防針，告訴他們苦日子要來了，別再醉生夢死，要勒緊褲帶，面對未來割韮菜，要有心理準備。並指出，李稻葵預告中國準備過苦日子，有3個核心觀點。

第一，地方債；他說這次房企出事，債務約5兆人民幣，但地方債高達50兆人民幣，是房企的10倍，地方債才是核心的問題。

第二，產業鏈的移轉；這次疫情又讓移出的產缐重返中國，但供應鏈移出，可能是長期趨勢。

第三，碳衰退；歐美加速碳中和、淨零排放，中國手段太猛太急，可能造成更大的傷害。

謝金河強調，以上核心觀點都點出中國面臨的問題，李道葵認為中國經濟長期仍看好，但短期會很難熬，「敢公開看壞中國經濟的專家鳳毛麟角，李稻葵的示警彌足珍貴」。其實去年，福耀玻璃的曹德旺最早說出中國要過苦日子，但很快就噤聲，這次李稻葵的話，會得到很大的迴響。

謝金河進一步指出，台灣最早說要過苦日子的人是前總統陳水扁時期，當選不久的經濟部長林信義。2001年，林信義公開說大家要有過苦日子的準備，阿扁還跳出來說苦日子即將過去，這個苦日子綁在台灣身上將近20年，現在李稻葵說出這句話，在台灣的多數人都很熟悉。
