This stupid counter closed at RM1.01 on 20 Dec 2010. Today it closed at 99 sen despite more than RM1 BILLION net profits in total having been registered by the company over the last 5 years from 2010 to 2014.

What a greatest disgrace & failure in its share price performance!

No point in blowing his own trumpet when the consistently low share price merely indicates low public confidence in his company.
What a pity and shame as compared to Liew Kee Sin's EcoWorld of which the market capitalization is double of that of Tropicana although Tropicana reported much higher net profits.
Tropicana's brand name is probably hopeless in the investment community.....hardly any research houses bother to cover it in the last few months.....

Likely the cash-rich GuocoLand Limited will privatize GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd at RM2 or below given that the revised NAV per share for the latter was once estimated at RM5.80 by one research house.

The net book value of the Menara Shell is RM432mil. Minus off the misc fees & capital tax, the disposal is probably going generate an extraordinary gain of RM150 mil for MRCB for FY2016. Research houses do not seem to highlight this positive impact from the proposed disposal...

Why it chose to recognize more expenses/costs first incurred for Da:men mall which is under construction and pending completion sale to Pavilion Reit???
Couldn't it classify and capitalize such costs first in its balance sheet under property development costs, instead of charging off in the P&L account so fast?

If CIMB Research dares to assign such a high TP of 72 sen at the expense of risking its reputation, theoretically this counter should at least climb to 55 sen over time. Seldom we can find such bullish research report. So, there should be great potential in delivering the result.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Proposed Disposal is expected to be completed in the first quarter of year 2016

Upon completion of the Proposed Disposal, GuocoLand is expected to realise a net gain on disposal of approximately RM19.94 million. The net gain attributable to owners of the Company represents an increase in earnings per share and net assets per share of the Company of approximately 2.98 sen.

The company will also recognize RM137mil gain on disposal of an office tower alone to Hong Leong Bank for FYE 30 June 2016, translating into an EPS of 20 sen.

In addition, Guocoland's associate company Vintage Heights SB (VHSB) is disposing of a parcel of land in Sepang for RM475.0m. At RM0.585, GOB is only valued at RM266 mil. It will report more than RM130 mil PAT for FY ending 31 March 2016 if the Damen mall sale is completed with payment received by then. Very much undervalued indeed!
Its Batu Kawan land alone is worth RM700 mil, way above its market capitalization.

Somehow the investment community valued EcoWorld so much more than Tropicana though Tropicana has been consistently delivering much higher net profits over the last 3 years and has much superb land bank in superb locations. Its gearing is also dropping while EcoWorld's is increasing......

Sigh.....very few investors seem to have trust in Tropicana principals..????

The group is also in the midst of acquiring 112 acres in Seksyen U10 Shah Alam, near Bukit Jelutong, and is currently awaiting approval from the authorities. The project, earmarked for landed properties, has an estimated gross development value of RM1 billion.

Despite the challenging outlook for the next 12 months, Low does not foresee any drastic impact on its business.

With unbilled sales of RM369 million, new developments in the pipeline in excess of RM2 billion as well as ongoing projects, he said the group is “comfortable” despite being cautious of the property cycle.

“It is no secret that the market is slightly weaker but it is a very normal cycle that the property industry goes through. When it comes to L&G, for the group, our ongoing projects as well as our existing landbank, it’s all located in very prime areas, very prime and mature residential or near city centre locations. With these prime landbanks within our group, I do not foresee drastic impact on the group,” he said.

He added the group is looking to replenish its landbank especially in the Klang Valley as land prices have become more reasonable and it is in a good position to do so with cash of over RM300 million and asset base close to RM1 billion.
