bangonluck, the price movements are purely artificial in nature. It is the sharks just playing around without and element of Demand and Supply factor. Just to confuse some of us and trap us. The timeline to settle the Balance of Payment (Cash) is by end Oct'14 or latest by 31 Dec 2014. So we still have Nov & Dec for happenings!!!!!!

Personally as i mentioned earlier, Sumatec has reached its BOTTOM and time is ripe for rebound.Hope I am not wrong

I hope I am wrong as i dont think the results will meet forecast with the drop in oil price. i believe their forecast profit was based on oil price at USd100, but now hovering at around USD80+ per barrel I believe will impact the bottomline as how Petronas recently suffered.

Statement by CLD on 23 June 2014.

Estimated USD175m* in Net profit from sale of oil.

*USD175m is based on USD100 per barrel Brent Price of oil and USD35 per barrel net profit of which Sumatec is entitled to 50% (USD17.5 per barrel) after 2 million barrels of oil has been produced.

My opinion : With price of Brent now at about USD83 per barrel, net profit for Sumatec is expected to be reduced to USD18 per barrel and 50% of share after 2million barrels will drop to USD9 per barrel.

With the drop in oil price there will definitely be a squeeze in Sumatec's Net Profit.

Outlook for crude oil is ugly: The bottom line is that we have three major factors working against oil prices: abundant supply driven by shale-oil drilling, soft demand as the global economy remains challenged, and a strong U.S. dollar that suppresses commodity prices.

Regarding demand, the International Energy Agency just cut its 2015 consumption target despite forecasts of low prices that actually encourage oil use. Goldman Sachs GS, +0.61% recently slashed its outlook for oil prices, predicting West Texas crude will hit $75 in the first quarter and remain there most of next year, and won’t break much higher than the current price of $80 in 2016.
