Note:Insas NTA RM 3.63 is still the most undervalued stock in Bursa.
Cash alone already billion and still holding 515,008,575 inari share

FastMoney666,

Rest assured that I am paying attention to what is being discussed here such as the discount, TTB's ego, 'bad boy' COL. Though I am pro TTB, I can see some good points raised here by you, dumbMoney, Sslee and others. A good point is the part played by COL in raising the icap price from 2.20 to 2.80 in a matter of weeks last year.

I keep a big portion of my retirement money in icap portfolio since 2005 and also buying some of his component icap stocks in the portfolio over the years as he is a trusted fund manager making my money grow slowly but surely like a tortoise overtaking the fast and risky rabbit. This does not mean i don't follow other analysts. Recent calls by some 'free lance' contributers are helpful too e.g YTL, YTLP, MSM, Cresendo, KSeng, Insas, Jtiasa and I follow their buy calls, making some decent gains.

Sslee,

Regarding the types of stocks in the icap portfolio, he goes mostly for growth stocks buying below intrinsic value and keep for long term or when stocks are above intrinsic values , he sells them. A recent example is UtdPlt bot at 15+ in 2022 and still a buy call at present. Growth stocks that are winners so far are PADINI(free capital) KGB, SAM, APEX, WELLCAL, SURIA. A turnaround is CAPITALA. Other sluggish growth stocks are EUPE, OCK, APM, MKH, OCNCASH, KRONO. Losers are PARKSON, TONGHER, SALUTE, HPMT and BIOHLDG.

Sslee,

TTB did not miss the glove super bull in 2020. One must understand his investment strategy and his discipline. The glove sector is not his type of business as it has no barrier to entry - any businessman can set up a factory in a short time and start producing gloves e.g. China. In fact he warned about Topglov's "right angled stock" in July 2020 at the peak of Glovemania. Who would have listened to him in the euphoria aka "the party has just begun"? He was spot on. Those retailers (like me) who made some money initially and stayed on at the peak and averaged down all got burnt a year later. If only I had listened to him instead of one popular investment guru.

@ FastMoney666,

Yes, I hope COL will go in and buy big so that we can see some excitement in icap. All time high 3.30 - 3.60 would be nice for some of us to take some profit bought at 2.20 - 2.40.

FastMoney666,

Could the catalyst be the coming court hearing on Jan 16? Last year in August, the court hearing was the catalyst in pushing icap from 2.20 to 2.80. Hopefully, this time from 2.80 to 3.60?

@dumbMoney,

Re Section 176 of the company's constitution, it does say that a winding-up/liquidation requires a special resolution in a EGM if the ordinary resolution to continue fails in AGM 2025. That the special resolution requires a simple majority or 75% approval is not stated. If 75% is required and not approved, then icap is back in Bursa again?

So far TTB's local icap fund is the most successful as compared to his other Global and Asian funds which are struggling. A jaguh kampong but still a champion in his and and loyal followers' eyes. Even COL is impressed to accumulate 23% in 10 years or so. Smart Gawailo.

I like Apollo for its conservative but very safe strategy. Always without debt and cash rich, giving good dividends to shareholders. A good example of a well managed Chinaman company . Hope new management can maintain the status quo and not mismanage.

icap for long term. Buy today at 2.77, already have about 80 sen gain from NAV = liquidation gain. If stuck, there is the new dividend policy
to compensate. Win-win.

Malaysia a land of opportunities in agriculture, constructon, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, transport, etc, etc. But locals in B40/60 are not interested. They prefer government handouts and EPF withdrawals. T20 employers prefer to pay for cheap foreign labor instead of paying RM5000.00 to locals to do the dirty jobs.

I have been a icap share owner since 2005. Over the years I added more shares. My average price is 1.21 since 2010. I have 100,000 shares. Present price of icap is 2.00. Here are my returns in the following scenerios.

*Present Scenerio 1 - ROI (Return On Investment) Annualised:
Total Investment = 100,000 X 1.21 = RM121,000
Total Return % = (2.00+ Div 0.095+0.20)= 2.295-1.21 = 1.085x100,000 = 108500/121000*100 = 89%
Annualised return % = 89/17 yrs = 5.2%

Compared to FD at 3% Compounded over 17 years = 200000/210000*100
= 165%
Annualised return % = 165/17 = 9.7%

*Future scenerio 2 - Based on 3.47 NAV Liquidation:

Total Return % = 3.47-1.21 = 2.26 X 100,000 = 226,000/121000*100
= 186%
Annualised return % = 186/17 = 10.9%

Conclusion: 1. Holding icap at 1.21 average price for 17 years is only 1% better than FD compounded at 3%.
2. For risk averse investors, FD is best.
3. for those who buy at icap at 2.00 now, you are taking an arbitrage
risk.
