many will curse and swear after getting the rights coz its price has tumbled terribly since then ! By right the co should instead focussed on splitting the shares like Aeon doing , something like 4 for 1 and free warrants given to increase the capital base , not subscribing the rights! With this , the market will response more positively.....anyway damage already done, what is done cannot be undone...

Once a lifetime chance to takeover a huge profitable no skeleton bank trusted by consumers with licences in high growth HK and China. DBS paid 10Bn for Dao Heng, they will pay many times more than that for PBB easily. Ambitious IMDB may even partner cash rich mid east sovereign gp to takeover similar to RHB & Mideast jv on RHBank.

no one. what kind of ridiculous question is that. its the same as asking - who will take over Sime Darby? or who will take over CIMB?

pretty dumb questions. its a Composite index member. not some small time bank.

more info for those taking about "takeovers"

CIMB Mkt. Cap. 60,689,880,400
SIME Mkt. Cap. 58,761,194,979

In other words, PBANK is MORE valuable at RM77,720,409,707.

If its anybody doing the "takeover" it will be PBANK.

Pbank no political clout, takeover who, its not just money talks in boleh land. Sovereign funds got hundreds of billions and private equity got even more, whats PBB valuation, loose change to these USD based gps as RM exchange rates is low

whatever you say man. RM77 billion. is small change. good for you.

PE funds don't just walk in and buy major 'composite index' banks of sovereign nations btw.

no political clout - then how come it is a member of composite index, plus major part of EPF, PNB, Amanah Saham etc etc....

RM77 billions = US 25 billions. It is just a cost of a small LNG (liquefied Natural Gas) project. It is an astronomical number for personal but it is just a peanut in business sense. Need to look at the macro

We could extended that line of logic to any composite index member. so why not discuss possible takeovers for Hong Leong, Astro, Sime Darby, even Maybank, since they are all so dirt cheap in USD terms?

- "need to look at macro" as you say...

If Pbank got real clout then TS no need don football gear lah, takeover need bank Negara consent and as TS Francis said must kowtow to Power leh in boleh land. Is Pbb in inner circle? they don't give political loans how to be in inner circle. basically its fortune founded on consumer banking.

you guys sound so 'in the know'. wow. great. i we here to talk about investments? or 'inner circle'???

this stock has risen approx 127% over the last five years (excluding dividends).

i don't care about various conspiracy theories and base speculation about 'takeover', 'inner circle', 'political loans' etc etc.

just continue to give me returns year after year, no headaches. so i don't have to think so much rubbish. just enjoy the ride!

Cheeeeerrsss!

Pbb has given the best consistent dividen and capital appreciation over the years, if have bought 100 lots and kept now can retire with annual hefty dividens streams. Consumiong banking still have room to grow even more than ever but other banks has got in so PBB must buck up

When we buy and sell online they have a multiple of "lots" column for you to input. This "lots" means 100 shares.
This "lots" becomes confusing. Are ppl refer 1 lot = 100 shares nowadays?
We don't use lots in Australia

In bursa Malaysia 1 lot nowadays is 100 shares, In Singapore, 1 Lot is 1000 shares. Quite confusing, you got to tell broker whether you are referring to Singapore Lot or Bursa Malaysia Lot size. Very confusing

Thanks for clarifications the lots meaning in M'sia and Singapore. I think the M'sia brokers are referring 1 lot is 100 shares as a norm and same frequency with clients. Otherwise there will be a serious chaos in KLSE.

You need to buy thru the brokers if you mean 20 shares. If you mean 20 lots (2,000 shares) you can buy online.
