5090 the market price slides may be because 5090 unable to renew its 'shariah compliant' status, don't worry this is not a serious matter. Further more one of the majority share holder Mr. Tiong buyback the shares. What is 'shariah compliant status'? pls tell me.
But as I know maybank said there wasn't any shariah compliance fund house holding the 5090. I wonder where did the sell off come from. Shariah compliant status is set by the Security commission of Malaysia to attract Islamic investors from Arabian countries. If the share is shariah compliant which means the business of the company doesn't involve in gambling business, alcohol , Tobacco and etc not Islamic complaint biz, then those funds from Arabian countries can invest into the share. So now in this case Media Chinese is not complaint with shariah law due to its Rm500 Million loan. It's not a Islamic loan.
Haha.. I know who is selling already. Public Islamic Sector Select Fund . They have about 19 millions share of media chinese. Don't know if they have finished selling all.
Never mind ,they sell we buy.5090 is the only one Chinese media listing in KLSE, Managed by timber tycoon SIR TIONG and family, may in 2 or 3 years time they declare another capital return to the share holders.
But start from now they can earn more, after the Islamic fund pull out they can publish the escort service ads & online gambling service, world cup is near Tiong must grab this opportunities. The best way is jv with Selangor Chinese business association to expands their business locals & oversea :)
Agreed. 5090 is the Monopoly player in the market! Yes although younger generation read less, but everyday i saw those condolence notice, or some one get congrats by buying or getting a dato, i would not worry about 5090!
Haha..I checked there are already have some legal Ah Long ads at china press and nan yang classified ads.. And some ads for hiring escort & massage girls.they been doing this. But not yet seen online gambling ads. It's a good idea to capture the World Cup fever.
Haha.. Why would he do that? It depends on how much he sells for his HK investment.i don't think he will do capital reduction in the future. Now mediac has RM 500million debt to serve. Hope they will issue their corporate bond soon and lower down the interest payment.
Down mean good to buy. DY should be above 5%(assuming final dividend 3sen or base on last 3years pattern) or more than FD rate. Media stock should continue to do well next year. http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/annent/5090.jsp
Excerpt from Interim Report 2013/2014 " ...directors resolved to declare first interim dividend for the year ending March 2014 of USD0.75 cents per ordinary share, payable on 15 January 2014"
1. A note that usually matures in five to 10 years.
2. A corporate note continuously offered by a company to investors through a dealer. Investors can choose from differing maturities, ranging from nine months to 30 years. Investopedia Says Investopedia explains 'Medium Term Note - MTN'
1. Notes range in maturity from one to 10 years. By knowing that a note is medium term, investors have an idea of what its maturity will be when they compare its price to that of other fixed-income securities. All else being equal, the coupon rate on medium-term notes will be higher than those achieved on short-term notes.
2. This type of debt program is used by a company so it can have constant cash flows coming in from its debt issuance; it allows a company to tailor its debt issuance to meet its financing needs. Medium-term notes allow a company to register with the SEC only once, instead of every time for differing maturities.
If the annual return rate very high and limited entitle to current share holder only, possibly the pricing still have hope.If it is open to public then 0.75 is possible to happen.
