theme analysis - current denggue fever outbreak, all public and private hospital short of bed... so what do you think? The best part is the denggue outbreak is getting worse each year because it is strongly climate relate (definite some people said, it is "hygiene" problem). So i think this Q, hospital counter shall make a lot profit.

We came back from a visit to KPJ Healthcare (KPJ) feeling less sanguine about its prospects for the next few quarters due to start-up losses from the opening of new hospitals and higher operating costs. The key takeaways from the visit include the followings:- (i) management shed some light on 4Q13/FY13 results, which raise a few eyebrows, (ii) expansion plans going forward, (iii) earnings growth is expected to be pedestrian over the next few quarters, and (iv) neutral impact from the recent doctors’ fee hike. We downgrade our FY14 and FY15 net profits by 4.7% and 7.5%, respectively, after taking into account the higher-than-expected losses and operating costs from newly start-up hospitals. Correspondingly, our TP is cut by 4% from RM2.80 to RM2.67 based on unchanged 23.5x FY14 EPS. Maintain UNDERPERFORM.

jcorp 2013 financial result, it doubled pre tax profit to 1.4 bil. that is huge. That might lifted up kpj today, somehow, I guess.

very near 3.00 now. It is just company policy to continue setting out 2 new hospitals yearly that pull down its profit. New start-ups are expected to loose money during the beginning 2 years. Expected no improvement until 2016.

warrant conversion have impact on share price.? following is the list of warrant exercise price.

kpj-cm revised exercise price RM 3.93,
kpj-cw revised exercise price RM 4.12,
kpj-wb exercise price RM4.01 (date of warrant issue 24 Jan 2014)
kpj-wa revised exercise price rm1.13 (issue date 11/1/2010, maturity date 10/1/2015)

asking to sifu out there. can I buy kpj-wa now and exercise it tomorrow? price today about RM1.8.
what will be total cost of getting one motherShare? conversion ratio for kpj-wa is 1:1

Is it "warrant price RM1.8 + exercise price RM 1.13 = RM 2.93"? If so, I am getting a mother share at RM2.93.

I think they found the bottom at rm3 now. the leverage brought about by bonus issue (2:1) is vanishing. average price for 6 months before bonus issues were listed is roughly RM 4.2 per share, average. with bonus issue, cost per share is roughly [RM2.8]. you want to maintain 7-10% profit so RM3 per share is just about right. just hope for a +ve news and it will jump again. Jcorp with a huge cash pile could come up with takeover offer, who know hi hi hi

a lot of other factor that could drag the price further down too. future outlook, directors cashing share, funds taking profit to close book.
