Alpha Trader, July to Sept pv price is from HIGH to bottom. Oct onward recover a bit, but not substantial, even admit by your self "solar will make loss on q4? please look at pv prices, it has recovered, though not to previous high". So 4Q average price still lower than 3Q.
Since late last year ppl buy tekseng for its solar, now solar not performing, expect ppl to dump it. "水能载舟,亦能覆舟." The water that bears the boat is the same that swallows it up.
Hmm. Actually can we calculate in this way? Assume all 4 qr result not so good. At EPS 2 cents x4 = 8 cents x 10 = 80 cents? When I look at the report. I got shocks also the revenue and earning drop. But by looking on the future demand. Energy saving is something what global need. I believe price will still drop because so many player here. But I also believe TS got few production and it can sustain the profit.
I was thinking of cut loss. But when I think if holding power, why need to sell? And I'm buying company, not news.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Because hope to learn from seniors as well.
i wonder if wahaha truly hold this stock, don't know how much he loss. Hope all the best to him. And also britishempire. but he say as long no sell. No loss yet. So he should be ok.
Solar industry is a commodity business which are fast pace, cut throat & winner take all. Small potatoes like TS has no technology advantage, government back-up to achieve economic of scale, i.e. cost/watt.
First Solar (US), Q-cell (Germany), Sun Power (Germany later on sold to China/Taiwan) all KO in malaysia.
You can judge what is the survival chance of TS to excel in solar panel manufacturing?
YES TITUS YOU ARE CORRECT NO LOSS HERE ! Unlike all these short term panic sellers I look at the long term, I am working with international governments and dealing with the Paris accord on climate change. With all the new requrements on renewable energy solar panel sales will be at an all time high over the next few years and because most solar companies have scaled back there production they will struggle to keep up with supply ! TS however are better positioned as they have continued on there production facility upgrade and now have all their new lines ready for when the demand increases which is good planning and will give them a big advantage when things turn around and they will. When all the sellers say if only I had held my TS shares when they are at 2 ringgit a share I will be saying TOLD YOU SO!
Same thing happened with AirAsia everyone said sell at .77 but I held and sold at 3 ringgit and said told you so !
The entire business segments rode on forex gains this quarter (including PVC) The core earnings of all the business segments were significantly lower than previous quarter (Q2). This is very likely to persist into the next 1 or 2 quarters with the price staying stagnant or falling lower
A very valid point Fresh Investor as TS are a holding company involved in many areas one of which is PVC and furniture coverings and everyone will allways demand furniture and PVC no slowdown their !
Actually all these panic sellers have not done the homework on this share they just keep comparing to American Solar Companies which is ridiculous as any American company whatever industry they are in is suffering due to the high US dollar as it makes it impossible to be competative when selling overseas which actually is the complete opposite for TS as they are a Ringgit Malaysian company and the weaker the ringgit is the more money they will make in profit when selling overseas !!!!!!!!
Start doing your homework and understand the markets before you make sell calls on here which is the complete opposite of what you should be doing when the ringgit is weak buy buy buy as THIS IS AN EXPORT COMPANY !!!!!!
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
