My (MR KOON) current strategy is to buy export company shares which have fallen about 25-30% in the last 2-3 months in view of the Ringgit strengthening. You must remember that most investors always overreact to good or bad news. How much the stronger Ringgit really affects export manufacturers profit? Can they increase their selling prices?
Focus Lumber: One of my friends visited Focus Lumber recently in Sabah and was told that they have new market in China and Japan for their products. The Japanese are increasing their orders in preparation for the 2020 Olympics. In the past, most of their products were exported to USA. They are expanding their manufacturing capacity to meet the new demand. As a result, the Ringgit strengthening will have little or no effect on their profit.
but hor, about the forex issue. the sensitivity analysis of forex movement affecting the company is 5% move in forex will results in 1.5 mil profit changes, but I think this is for the year of 2015, if use simple calcullation 1.5 /4 = 125k profit per quater. give it 20% drop of forex, profit will reduce by 1.5mil. Other things being constant, FLB comming quater report will be able to generate EPS of 8.9 discount another 20% still got EPS 7.
althought without a dividend policy, historically, FLB pay about 40%-50% of its net profits as dividend. and if you look at their receivable aging report, you will definitely fall in love with FLB
Extract from FLB's Annual Report: The revenue of the Group increased from RM150.42 million in the previous financial year to RM180.73 million, representing an increase of RM30.31 million. Higher revenue was recorded due to higher sales volume and stronger US dollar against Ringgit Malaysia.
2. Recycling of wood waste for biomass power generation; and 3. Carrying out a Lacey Compliance Verification (LCV) Program in affirming the legality of sourced forest products used in the manufacture of our products, which will give a high level of confidence to our customers of our fulfilment of the requirements of the Lacey Act for the US market.
3. last years MACC probe illegal logging did not affect FLB. If there is any adverse effect, its only on the supply of rawmaterials. However, with the cash hoard that FLB has, it should be a good paymaster, so no big problem
Strategies and Prospects Despite the global economic conditions and the continued challenging impact of the implementation of the minimum wages system by the Malaysian Government, the Group remains positively optimistic about the prospects for the coming year. The Group will continue to work hard on improving its productivity by implementing various plans, investing in advanced machineries and reducing costs efficiently and effectively.
With a strong balance sheet, solid operating fundamentals and outstanding leadership of the Board, our Managing Director and the Management Team, I am confident that the Group will continue to deliver growth and sustainable shareholders returns in the year ahead.
RV shipments to retailers totaled 40,740 units in the month of March this year, up 13.9% over the previous month and ahead of this same month last year by 11.5%, based on a survey of manufacturers. This was the largest single monthly total for all RVs since March 2006. Seasonally adjusted, the March total this year represented an annualized rate of more than 420,000 units, the highest run rate in more than 10 years.
Year to date, first quarter shipments have now climbed to 108,195 units, 11.5% ahead of this same period last year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, 1st quarter shipments were running at an annualized rate of more than 430,000 units, 12.2% ahead of the pace reported for this same period last year.
Both towable and motorhome categories were reported at higher totals than this same three month period in 2015 with a greater unit increase for all towable RVs, largely conventional travel trailers, while all motorhomes improved by a higher percentage total, led by type C motorhomes.
