Dear 1n1792,
Buying low is catching a falling sword. Without cut loss mechanism, buying low can be very high Risk.
It seems so nice n easy to buy low. But many can go much lower n remain lower for a long to infinity time.

We r in an endless 'financial war'. At times we need to retreat n let our 'financial soldiers' have holiday in the bank.

These words I remember since some 20 years ago from a top CEO of Corporate Singapore said, " In good times prepare for bad times n In bad times prepare for good times "
He went on to say every individual stock investor/trader has to experience at least a complete 12 years cycle.
If one learns well in this 12 years period, one can expect to excel for the next maximum of 2-3 cycles of 12 years each.

Dear ALL,
Recently KLCI turned bullish since Nov 28th, 2012, all or most stocks followed. Many ppl started to shout bullish for stocks like, knm, kfima, padina n more.
As a matter of fact, it is not so easy for stocks to turn bullish. Genting for an ex. took 3 months going through wild swings n its journey back to bull zone is rough n torturous. It is still on bull test !
I will term the 1st stage of bullishness as a Spike or Spurt or Strength. This is true esp when the general mkt tone is bullish.
When this happens I will suggest guessing the highest price on spike or strength. Capture it n execute a sell at best. n Best not to go in to help others get out of the mkt !
My client once said this, Stocks behave like human. Before dying it will 'kick' 3 times. Once it is at dead end it will add 3 years.
No offence but it is real.

That's my basic strategy for now too. Not staying at the sidelines totally since there *might* be the CNY rally. But the buys are small because I'm more concerned with what the 900-pound gorilla in the form of the "GE Factor" might do. Have to let this one play out first. In the meantime, there will be various isolated opportunities, as always. But have to also remain cautious and not get in too deep.

Why so many FA professionals refuse to sell even knowing the probability is swinging towards pureBear ?

Seriously Good TA knowledge can help n is much easier to master !

If u can use so much resources to master FA, I strongly believe the same effort on TA will definitely make one very successful n at the same time have much more quality time to enjoy life to the fullest...

William , i was only hurted by my Dayang that i didnt sell on the 2.70..

Other than that, I didnt hold any more stock in hand.

On 18.01.13(5) , the KLCI lowest is 1674.69 , but the actual support is 1673.69, its only confirmed broken on 21.01.13(1).

Anyway , those who shorted the futures since then can closed next day, r profiting.

Now is 2nd round shorting, but beware of tomorrow is month end, dont greedy much on tomorrow.

@1n1792, I had the impression that the traditional rallies were *before* CNY(?) But it definitely doesn't look like so at the moment and there's less than two weeks left. That means you could be right. On the other hand, this "GE Factor" might override the CNY rally, before or after. Investors are jittery. Can't blame them when things often threaten to turn the other way in an instance. At around 11.30 am just now, the index suddenly dipped. Heck, I'd be nervous too when something like this appears out of the blue. I don't know what to think right now. But if there prices become attractive, I'd buy selectively - just small positions though - and lock in the profits immediately when they come.
