Forget Umno, Bersatu or Pas! They are antiquated malay parties that used stale 'Demi bangsa agama dan negara' formula! After 60 years, even the older generation of malays had enough of them!
Harapan won Melaka back in GE14! However, this round, Anwar Ibrahim will be the front of Harapan! Mahathir is now total nobody in Malaysia politics, and it seems Mahathir will not be seen in this coming by election! I think he already seen the sign on the wall!
After more than 20 years of Anwar vs Mahathir, this round Anwar is free from Mahathir shadow!
However, Anwar leadership style has come into question! He is rudderless and only good at political gimmicks! Anwar will jump on red hot button issues to win some votes! Anwar is a man with plan A but zero plan B! Opponents can read Anwar like the back of their hands! Anwar is just too easy for them!
Failure to win Melaka will have huge impact on Anwar leadership! For Umno, losing is actually a good thing as fractions in Umno are trying to get rid of Zahid Najib camp! Bersatu of course will die standing together with Pas!
So basically, Melaka is a do or die for Anwar Ibrahim! If he fail to win Melaka, it means, basically, his leadership as a whole will not fit his ambition to be the next PM!
