Emphasizing strict religious orthodoxy limits the capacity for critical thinking, modern scientific advancements, and philosophical inquiry. By placing religious dogma over scientific thought, the party risks closing Malaysia off from global intellectual progress, mirroring the stagnation of Islamic civilization post-11th century when dogmatism overshadowed intellectual curiosity

While PAS claims to champion Islam, its narrow, conservative approach would push Malaysia towards a similar fate as that of the Islamic world after the 11th century—where rigid orthodoxy, rejection of pluralism, and intellectual stagnation led to the decline of a once-thriving civilization. Instead of fostering a renewed era of progress and enlightenment, PAS is steering the country toward an insular and divided society, detached from the global advancements that have historically marked the greatness of Islamic civilization. By doing so, Malaysia could see the end of its own version of an Islamic "golden age," with the country slipping into stagnation rather than thriving as a pluralistic, forward-thinking nation.
