Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank), the largest lender in Malaysia in terms of asset, recorded a 10.4 per cent growth in profit after tax and minority interest (PATAMI), making its net profit surged to RM3.07 billion for the first half in financial year 2013.
On revenue, it grew 8.1 per cent to RM9.2 billion, compared to RM8.58 billion in the last corresponding period.
It also proposed to distribute an interim dividend of 22.5 sen per share. Under the dividend reinvestment plan, a 6.5 sen of the total dividend will be paid in cash, and the remaining 16 sen can be reinvested in new ordinary share.
This represents a total payout of 63.7 per cent of group PATAMI for the period.
