KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp Bhd posted a net loss of RM167.85 million in the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2024 (1Q 2024), versus RM11.08 million of net profit in the same period last year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company also registered a lower revenue of RM2.23 billion, compared to RM2.57 billion previously due to lower contributions from retail, services and property segments.

On prospect, the group said it would monitor the prevailing global and local political development in the countries where the company has business operations.

"The performance of the domestic business segments of the group is expected to improve on the back of strong consumer spending and improvement in tourism activities," it said.
