Ni Hsin Group Bhd  subsidiary, Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd, has entered into a collaboration and donation agreement with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Focus Applied Technologies Sdn Bhd (Focus), and Dongguan Tailing Electric Vehicle Co Ltd (TAILG) to advance electric mobility in Malaysia, specifically focusing on two- and three-wheelers. 

The goal is to demonstrate the practicality of electric two-wheelers in Malaysia’s transportation landscape.

The collaboration involves the development and support of research activities, educational programs, and training in their respective fields of expertise, benefiting all parties involved. 

TAILG will donate 50 Ebixon Bold electric motorcycles, manufactured by Ni Hsin EV Tech, for use by USM to gather relevant data. 

Focus will provide hardware, installation, and commissioning of the vehicles, as well as financial support of up to RM10,000 to assist with the study.

The electric motorcycles will be provided to various end-users free of charge for one year to assess their performance and applicability in different scenarios. 

USM will conduct testing, data collection, operator feedback, and end-of-project inspections. After the study, eligible end-users may receive the electric motorcycles permanently.

The initiative aims to provide insights into the use of electric two-wheelers in Malaysia, with the goal of enhancing their design and features to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles.

It also supports the Malaysian government’s low-carbon initiatives, as outlined in the National Low Carbon Cities 2030 plan. 

The collaboration contributes to public education and awareness of the benefits of electric two-wheelers in promoting a low-carbon future.

Ni Hsin shares were trading on Bursa Malaysia at 12.5 sen apiece, up half a sen or 4.17% from last week’s close, giving it market capitalisation of RM72 million. –TMR
