美联储的数据显示，6月消费者的未偿还信用卡债务达到1.02兆美元（4.37兆令吉）的记录水平。
争抢卡奴客
包括花旗集团和摩根大通在内的银行，都在争抢那些有可能无法全额按期还款的持卡客户，在长期低利率环境中，这还是一块相对有利可图的业务。
这一次，情况可能不会那么糟糕。
2008年的时候，房价的下跌经过螺旋式发展扩大成了一场全球金融崩盘，在失业率大幅升向10%的情况，各大银行在接下来的两年中减记的信用卡坏账超过1000亿美元（4280亿令吉）。
