Survey long term shareholders.
For all the value investors, long term investors, those buy and hold guys........lets do a survey.
From 1 January 2017, the KLSE CI went up from 1671 to 1793 presently ( up 7%) , from your long term portfolios since 1 January 2017 did you make money or not?
Since this is a survey of value investors, long term investors, and those buy and hold guys.....
1. do not rely on memory, memories not reliable. Check actual records.
2. ignore trading results since this is a survey of actual long term buy and hold results.
Don't give me results of this share or that share up XXX% .....give me actual real results of your long term share holdings. Cannot just count the winning positions, must count all positions,....to be realistic.
This forum, people like to talk about value investing, about long term investing, about buy and hold strategies....did such strategies work for you or not from 1 January 2017 to presently when the CI up by 7%.
Is buy and hold by retail the holy grail to making money as it is made out to be?
Did buy and hold and value investing work for you.?.....not just the winning positions, but total portfolio basis
Go and dig up old competition portfolios and see whether work or not.?
