KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has asked the opposition whether they are afraid of their own shadows.
He said the emergence of fake declaration letters for Umno candidates, which includes a clause to support him as a prime minister candidate, seemed to suggest so.
"We believe that BN's opponents are afraid of their own shadows. They are stressed and overthinking things after what they have done. Their worry is that what you give, you get back," he said in a statement on Facebook today.
He said the timing of the fake letters coincided with BN's efforts to state the truth and revive the country.
"They feel that BN is like them probably, and would drop court cases involving their leaders like they did after they won in GE14."
Zahid called on the opposition to stop lying and making nonsensical statements, adding that people would not be easily deceived.
"Today, Malaysians are rational and easily understand the difference between truth and falsehoods.
"It is not difficult for them to see through the lie," he said while reiterating that the letter was fake.
He claimed the fake letter was a clear and strong reason as to why the people needed to reject the opposition.
Over the past two days, parties opposing BN have alleged that a vote for BN is a vote for Zahid to be PM based on the letter.

I don't know what Zahid is taking but it seems good! Totally detach from reality!
