KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government will continue its discussions with Putrajaya on the state's 40 per cent revenue entitlement.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the entitlement is enshrined In the Federal Constitution.

"Do not be worried. It is enshrined in the Constitution and the state government has always been discussing with the federal government," he told the reporters after Sabah Excellence Scholarship Award at Sabah International Convention Centre here.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Putrajaya collected up to RM10.2 billion revenue from Sabah last year.

By right, Sabah deserves a return of RM4 billion from the collection.

When asked whether the Sabah government agreed with the "RM10.2 billion" figure, Hajiji refused to elaborate.

Meanwhile, Hajiji said the state government would never acknowledge any claims from anyone on Sabah.

"We have gained independence for 61 years together with Malaysia. So, what more is there to talk about?

"Our life and death is within our country Malaysia," he said.

Present were Sabah state secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong and speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim Yahya, Yayasan Sabah Group director Datuk Ghulam Haidar Khan as well as other cabinet ministers.
