KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): FGV Holdings Bhd (KL:FGV) said it remains committed to responsible recruitment and its ‘no recruitment fee’ principle for former migrant workers through its reimbursement programme.

In a statement, FGV said it had been reaching out to former workers to submit their claims under the Former Worker Reimbursement Programme as part of its efforts to ensure ethical labour practices across its operations.

"The scope of the reimbursement programme covers former workers from Indonesia, India and Bangladesh who were recruited to work for FGV on or after Sept 30, 2018, and have since left their employment with FGV before or on Dec 31, 2022," it said.

FGV said the former workers should submit their claim application forms online before or on Dec 31, 2024, together with documents including passport details, the employee ID, and bank account information.

Successful applicants will be contacted via mobile phone within 15 business days of submission.

As part of its ongoing efforts to uphold human rights, FGV has introduced several initiatives to protect the rights of migrant workers, including the adoption and strict enforcement of its ‘no recruitment fee’ policy, capacity building and stringent due diligence on recruitment agencies.

The company has allocated RM112 million to reimburse recruitment fees to its migrant workers, including former migrant workers.

To date, it has paid RM74.15 million to 22,091 migrant workers, and the reimbursement exercise will continue until year end.
