KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has repeated his call for the civil service to focus on speed, transparency, and cost savings to improve governance and the quality of service delivery.

In a Facebook posting, he said he had also asked the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar to ensure that relevant ministries and agencies take immediate action once decisions have been made.

He said the government will ensure that all policies and initiatives prioritise the welfare of the people.

He said this ensures that no one is left behind from enjoying the nation's development and prosperity.

"I chaired the National Cost of Living Action Council Meeting in Putrajaya yesterday.

"This meeting serves as a platform for the government to address the issues related to the cost of living and to discuss the best methods to enhance the well-being and welfare of the people," he said.

Anwar said during the meeting, he emphasised that Malaysia's encouraging economic indicators hold true significance only if they positively impact the lives of the people.

Anwar, who is finance minister, will table the 2025 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday.
