The FBM KLCI (-0.67%) ended lower after hitting an intraday high of around 1,661, as banking and transportation & logistics heavyweights, namely CIMB (-19.0 sen) and MISC (-19.0 sen), dragged down sentiment on the local front with conflicts in Middle East the despite the positive quantitative easing in China. Furthermore, profit-taking activities emerged ahead of Malaysia Budget 2025. Additionally, market breadth was negative, with losers outnumbering gainers by 652 -to-488 stocks. In the broader market, the utilities sector (+0.65%) was the best performer, led by YTL (+2.0 sen) and MALAKOF (+4.0 sen), while the energy sector (-1.21%) declined the most.
