FBM KLCI: 1,609.26 pts (-11.98pts, -0.74%)

The FBMKLCI (-0.74%) extended its losses, bucking the strong performance in the US market last Friday; selling pressure was observed on Banking heavyweights like MAYBANK (-16.0 sen) and PBBANK (-8.0 sen) ahead of Malaysia’s Q3 2024 GDP data to be released this Friday. The market breadth was negative, with 685 losers as compared to 357 gainers. While almost all sectors ended in negative territory, the Plantation sector (+1.72%) gained the most, led by SDG (+14.0 sen) and UTDPLT (+106 sen), in tandem with the surge in CPO prices of above the RM5,100 level.
