Datuk Syed Amir Syakib Arsalan bin Syed Ibrahim ("Datuk Amir") is presently the managing partner of a legal firm established in Malaysia since 1975. He is actively involved in the Malaysian corporate scene, advising clients on mergers & takeovers, leveraged buyouts, corporate restructuring and other business transactions. Datuk Amir has been a practicing lawyer for more than 20 years in various firms, including one of the largest legal firms in Malaysia.

Datuk Amir was also involved in advisory capacity with Capital Partners Securities Ltd of London through Capital Partners Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. His primary role was to advise Malaysian and regional companies which were seeking to raise capital on the London Stock Exchange.

Datuk Amir was previously the Managing Director of a private company which is primarily involved in the manufacturing and supply of home and audio electronics, which has its manufacturing facilities in Anhui, China. 

Datuk Amir is a shareholder and director in Heinemann Duty Free Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Gebr Heinemann, one of the largest privately owned duty free retailer in the world.
