Mohamad Fuard Bin Che Ibrahim has 33 years of experience in Project Management for PETRONAS. He started his career as Process Engineer with the Petronas Penapisan Melaka Sdn Bhd in 1990 and involved in the project planning and its implementation as well as, in charge of the refinery process technologies, leading to the successful commissioning and operation of the Petronas Second Refinery 2 in 1998. Thereafter he was assigned at the PETRONAS Corporate office to oversee the planning and implementation of all the PETRONAS proposed overseas refinery projects namely in South Africa, Vietnam, Sudan and Venezuela. As the Deputy Project Director (General Manager), he was in charge of the Refinery and Steam Cracker Complex during the early part of the project execution and was responsible for the initial planning of the PETRONAS biggest undertaking of the Refinery and Petrochemical Project, leading to the successful sanctioning of the USD 27 billion Project RAPID in Pengerang in early 2014. Subsequently, he was tasked to oversee the petchem project studies for the PETRONAS Chemicals Group (PCG) prior to going on mandatory retirement in 2021. He currently is a freelance advisor in overseeing big scale project studies and subsequently their implementation.
