Thanks Mr.Khoon for sharing his investment ideas. nonetheless, i believed everyone has its own style and risk tolerance.
the focus is now on O & G, construction counters maybe (later)
plantation stocks will be in the limelight.

latest updates - Barakah added by Arena, CIMB & Maybank (O& G) small cap counters. Petronas awards for local O&G Co's. Barakah strong contender for other additional projects (apart from the Peninsular T+I) awarded recently. Looks like counter have more legs to run. This is my personal assessment
2014-01-10 09:11 | Report Abuse
Barakah is a different Company headed by Management. Their core business is also different from Vastalux. Vastalux sold their listing status to Barakah. Barakah is a tie 1 (VDP) with Petronas,
Vastalux shareholders completely cut off from Barakah take over their listing status. more information can be obtained from business times prior to Barakah listing in October. happy trading

to be honest. not everyone can lives to 80's or 90's. however, to save and invest over 10-15 years period( is good ). most of us started to invest only after 40's + 10 years = 50's .
enjoy what you can afford. after all life is short. not everyone can be a billionaire. happy trading

diversification works (if you have deep pockets ) and invest long term ( meaning ( 1 to 2 years )holding powers. for the average players ( average 6-8 counters ) is sufficient.
maybe 1-2 banking counters, 1-2 property counters , 1-2 plantation counters plus 1-2 trading position. market plays on themes. this is just my personal opinion.

Mr Koon thoughts on JT is highly interesting. Nonetheless, the forecast is on the Company future performance ( i.e.next 3-4 years ) we need to be aware of the future changes( eg. Company Management, demand and supply etc ) which will have an impact. Buy at your own risk and do not blame anyone. Once again, thanks for sharing your thoughts

RPGT is a regressive tax hurting genuine buyers and speculators who flipped their property. irrespective of the locations (whether in sabah, pahang, johor or FT ) it's applies across the board.

interesting article (alternative views)against the government official statistics. China may tweak it's economy to avoid any hard landings given the size of the country. whereas Malaysia limitation (eg high debts has less room for the country to provide strong economic adjustment ) against any economic fall outs. Nobody likes to have a economic bubble in it's own country. Not me !

the NGO's has hidden agenda against oil palm growers. (Indonesia) ticked off the Western NGO's. Before we can take care of the orang Utans we need to take care millions of our own orang Miskin.
Western NGO's are biased against ASian countries. look at their own countries. All their forests have already make way for Industries in the early 50's and 60's. Now they are telling (Asian) countries do not developed and restrict the land usage.
We need to have a balanced view of development. What's the NGO's says is not gospel truth. Look at China. NGO's have years complained China on many issues. China struggles thru the 60's and 70's. until Teng open up China thru their new economic policies. Western countries shun China.
China appeal to their overseas Chinese (Wah Chiao) to answer their call for development. Who responded Not the western NGO's but people like Robert Kuok , Li Ka Shing, Henery Chao and many many overseas Chinese investor.
This is my own opinion and nothing personal against the NGO's.

long term investment has changed. we need to accept our risk tolerance.is it 6 month,1-year or 2 year time frame ? most of all know the industries. buy the shares only you understand their operations

put aside Singapore, Korea or Hong Kong ( China). we are losing grounds to our ASEAN countries ( eg Indonesia and Thailand) very soon ( Vietnam or Philippine) if we are not careful then
we can see Malaysian working as maids, drivers , packers, security in other countries.) Jokes aside, something need to address the serious brain drain syndrome.

with the min.wage implemented, crackdown on illegal workers, higher fuel costs, expensive land costs, lengthy delay for multiple approval(s). How can prices in main cities be lower. not forgetting the weakening ringgit against
USD and SGD.

this companies have the cash but the owners ( main shareholders ) seem to be low key & prefer the co's off the spotlight. they will just churn along the market unless they have plans to take it private. KLSE has lot's of this deep valuation co's. we need to hit the jackpot if a particular company is a target of a hostile take over. this is just my personal observation
2013-09-03 09:01 | Report Abuse
the bottom line. account deficit too high to sustain. ringgit will be downgraded(if nothing is done) living standard will be affected if GST is push thru in October
2013-09-02 14:56 | Report Abuse
with the GST the salary workers will be most hard hit. And if the Bank increase their rates (loans) again the average wage earners will be affected

the government has more issues at hand. weakening ringgit against major currencies is indirectly raising inflation. foreigners exiting our bonds and equities market to channel back home their resources. KLCI dropping plus flip flop policies. the last thing they have on their mind is to discourage non residents buying properties. iskander needs foreigners to invest (if not will be a big flop)

TA & Charts are not applicable when the market turns upside down. Market momentum is too strong for anybody to fight against the trend. Apart from deep pockets you need to be 100% confident in your analysis.
Even you are right, timing the market for the turn is not easy. But at the end of the day. those who take the greater risk reap the biggest gain. Happy trading

Muhibah is a good counter But Petronas job holdback (delay) is a damper
on their prices. Muhibah is trying to secure more O & G contracts. Their inland Port Klang yard is not conducive for fabrication of deep sea rigs.
Nonetheless, most funds has a buy on Muhibah. Investing is not instant gratification. we need to be patient and ride on the trends. O & G is the in thing. we need to ride the trend (wave) on O & G counters. this is my personal opinion

BNM will not react to Fitch's downgrade. BNM is only answerable to the government (not to Fitch). with Petronas we are still OK compare to other countries without natural resources. Malaysia is a country of abundance but but somehow where does all our exports (eg. crude oil, CPO, rubber ) money goes to. you need to find the answer yourself

interesting views on stocks but i do believed that selection criteria may differ but the bottom line is we all of us, here is to make profit out of the market.
the number of stock selected is important. one may have a short list (eg. 5-6 stocks on the watch list)if we can hit the target on all the 5-6 stocks ( that means we are 100% accurate)
the bottom line is the holding period of the stocks. At 1,800 index most funds are targeting between 1830-1840 year end. that does not leave much room.
if we can identify growth stocks for 2014 that would be really of interest to people reading this blog.

trading & investing is 2 different ball games, what you learn might not translate into real trading situations. this is what we call school of hard knocks. learn from experience and not just rely on text books.
contra plays and short term investing is different. what's important is your time frame (holding period) this makes a winner or a loser. this is my personal viewpoint. happy trading
