YES HIDUP UMNO. Screw stupid PH killing all stock market. Back to punting and making money again.

Yes of course got exit clause. that's why Felicity say they must pay compensation to get out of contract

Also I would advice Tony to refrain from his aggressive tone. Make the government an offer it can't refuse. HAHAHA! Godfather ar.

TLDR for you one liners.
I'm not a Gamuda supporter. This is a necessary disclaimer since most i3investor forumers can't understand how a person would take a neutral unbiased view without any money on the stock. Just reviewing facts and figures.
Trade secrets are a form of intelletual property. Unlike patents which may expire over a certain period, trade secrets are often perpetual in nature.
A very simple example of a trade secret is the recipe to coke. They company protects their recipe by shipping ingredients anonymously and factory managers are told the relative proportions but not ingredients.
It even has it's own wikipedia page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_formula
I'm not comparing Gamuda to coke of course. But I'm saying trade secrets are important. It is not just shared to the government but an engineering firm as well.
I rooted for Tony but he did leave some blanks unasnwered. And yes, I have read the ENTIRE exchange between Gamuda and Tony.
i ) If Tony believed the savings would be worth 4.19 to 5.79 billion-why wasn't this sum given to Gamuda? The market is buyer and seller right?
If I go to wet market and ask price of T shirt. Aunty wants to give for 15 , I say no too much, she asks for my price-I say no thanks and walk away. Why didn't I give my figure of 10? That's what negotiation is about.
I find it hard to believe that Gamuda would walk away from just an addition 3 b in reduction-remember, they reduced is by 2.3 billion already- then have no deal at all.
UNLESS......
a) MoF did not tell them the figure they had in thier mind. Which was what Gamuda implied. No figure how to know what price you want brother?
b) The figure was grossly depressed
ii) Which brings me to b). Yes, the independent firm is not any Tom Dick company hired by MoF, but Gamuda did ask for second consultation. Why didn't they get it?
Just like if you got cyst. You don't go one doctor to check if benign or not. You go to at least 3-4.
Gamuda said the first consulting firm made the value too simplified. They requested for another consultation just like another doctor. Why weren't they given the benefit of the doubt?
That's all I want to hear.

I'm curious to see what is the new value of the underground deal. The JV has stated that their reduction for the underground work was in fact rejected by MoF. For them to open to international tender they have to relax their requirements.
BUT to relax their requirement, the insurers would then come knocking. Tough spot eh MRT?
Also, LGE has up to date not stated if he would compensate the contractors rightfully as stated on common clauses. Dear leader and shining hope of the Pakatan, please prove yourself a good man.
Yes you may terminate the agreement. That is your right. But termination comes with it's own clause. Do the right thing in the eyes of the law.

I know it's a fact. Don't be so prickly. I'm just discussing business. If the fact was the final pitstop, then there wouldn't be any post-mortem analysis which is important. We can't just stop at event based facts and not discuss further.
Yes they get the compensation-if they do-and that's that. If they don't , then LGE would not be respectable.
In terms of the award. The value may have been inflated, but that was an agreed upon deal. So coming back full circle. Okay, if you are a business owner and took over the company, after reviewing the contracts you disagreed with the value, then yes you may cancel and compensate.
But just cancelling like that. That is not respectable.
2018-10-09 10:59 | Report Abuse
Stiker, if you took time to scroll above you would have noticed that I put a disclaimer saying I didn't have any exposure in Gamuda.
The reason why I said that was because I knew there would be people like you who instantly characterizes anyone that is damning the stock as a short seller and encouraging the stock as a bull.
Would it occur to you as I am voicing an impartial and neutral view? You know you can have a view on something without being invested right? Just like we can say Facebook did a bad move with their data breach without us being invested in Facebook.
It isn't about money and cents. It's about right and wrong.
Anyway,
Yes you are right! Only is they pay compensation. That is the key word. Compensation. But LGE didn't say that did he?
2018-10-09 10:56 | Report Abuse
You can cancel only if the cooling period hasn't passed or there was a breach or some unfair practice collided with the best interest of each party. Meaning, their respective duties were not fulfilled.
Of course contracts are broken all the time. Everyone knows that contracts are not rightfully fulfilled all the time. This is not a proper practice but it happens.
But the point I'm alluding to is : LGE the leader we looked up to like a shining star cancelled the contract. Not any random person, but our leader.
I thought he would have better optics than that. Again, bring it down to a layman level. If you got a job contract to build a house-and the developer suddenly said-sorry our deal if off. Would you call this action a respectable move?
2018-10-09 10:48 | Report Abuse
Yes raider that's what I mean. To cancel contract must have breach of trust. There wasn't any from Gamuda.
2018-10-09 10:29 | Report Abuse
If no money, you cut other ways. Not by cancelling a contract.
So if your company hire you and suddenly the company saiad sorry we oversight our budget. So just fire you?
2018-10-09 10:27 | Report Abuse
Yes. I thought he was a good leader. Ppl always love to show him humble eating at kopitiam. But this is the result?
Cancel a legally binding contract. Cancel a contract that was not in breach.
Think logically. Don't have emotional bias towards party A or B. Do you think what he did is fair?
If you got hired by an employer, past probation, then 3 months down the road he said sorry we firing you.
That is what happened to Gamuda.
2018-10-09 10:22 | Report Abuse
This is impartial view as I do not have any exposure into Gamuda. I know we on i3investor, but don't talk about profit, trade, short sell or market for one moment.
You think logically first, is this the kind of leader that we put our hope in? A kind of leader that cancel an ONGOING deal that was put onto contract?
I'm not a lawyer, but last I check contract = LEGALLY BINDING.
I'm dissapointed in our LGE. I'm from Penang and supported him. This is the kind of businessman we have appointed. Businessman that can simply cancel contract.
Lost respect for him. I certainly won't be voting Pakatan next year.

Last year I invested in 15 counters. EG was my biggest allocation 25% after I bought into VenFX bullish story. But out of 15-all made money(Elsoft, Batu Kawan, even oil counter Reach) except EG. This year I really hope it goes up. Value investing isn't easy.

Looking at day to day price movements is just a redundant and ineffective way to spend your time.

Hi VenFX, I read your post but couldn't really find the answer directed to Albukhary's question. I believe the question is quite legitimate and should take be taken into consideration.
EMS has moved. Electronics has moved. Tech has moved.
But why hasn't EG moved? Can you name me another underperformer in the EMS industry besides EG? I can't think of any. So yes institutional funds come in, but they also went into others. So why EG? Why EG only hasn't moved?

Why did EG industries drop when other electronics went up?

Okay so adamant, the operator plays with your psychological level.
You think 15-he throw 12. You think 12 he throw 10. You think 10 he throw 6. You think 6 he throw where ? 0? So anzo is worth 0 and all their assets is just junk?
The operator will throw but he himself has self interest. If his average cost is 12-15-he won't throw till 0 cause it will impact his profits. Imagine the operator go and report to syndicate. Mr. Syndicate-your average cost is 12 and I manage to throw up to 20 cents all the way down to 6 cents. It's idiotic-might as well just throw down to 12 cents breakeven then hold. Once retailers come in-then only start throwing again.

I see alot of ignorant comments around KUb's takeover-from Anchorscape. I was one of those too, before I actually took effort to read the news.
Anchorscape had a agreement to buy over a percentage of KUB at 0.35 back in 2015. This was when KUB was trading about 0.35-0.38. Imagine if someone made a deal with you to buy their shares at 0.35 when the price is 0.35-0.38 at that time. Is it a discount? No. It's a risk that it might go lower.
Now 2 years later-shares up to 0.53. Will you be happy? Of course. Will you exercise your deal? Of course.
That's what happened. It's not the deal NOW it's the deal BEFORE.
2017-06-09 15:18 | Report Abuse
so let me understand. Majority offer to buy x shares for 0.35. Under normal circumstance, Malaysian punter shareholders will quickly panic sell to below 0.35 since they believe Anchorscape deems the true value lower than current. But in this circumstance, the shareholders remain above and refuse to believe the value offered at 0.35? This is rare for the average retail investor to think like that. Quite impressed.

Good results but please look closely the big 50% profit jump everyone is talking about is 3Q20 from 3Q19.
Remember, 3Q20 had pent up demand due to 2Q20 huge lockdown before transitioning to partial in 3Q20. Everyone was traveling and splashing due to all saved up disposable income and loan moratorium, even my friends usually go to japan / korea and shunned local places went to pangkor and sabah desperate to go anywhere as long as can spend.
Look at the year on year till last filling meaning 1Q-3Q 19 vs 1Q-3Q 20 it's not 50%, only 0.98%. Do the math if you think this seems insane ( what 50% vs 0.98%???) , look at their fillings and calculate them. The numbers check out. So for those wanna punt one quarter of results 50% jump, great results and was a great run. Long term, check the math for 9 months ending this year vs last year and think it through.
