Between TopGlove and Serba, which one should we choose if we are forced to choose one?

I say choose TG, because the downside risk is not as great as Serba. Of course the upside risk for TG is 0 and for Serba maybe some upside. why some and not good upside?

The problem with Serba is their debt, even if EY and KPMG clears them. They will have problem servicing their debt that will expire in 2022. Can they do another PP again? Expensive bond and no PP, whatelse? Do Rights Issue? maybe... then how can the stock price go up?

JJchan, if I am not mistaken, they are entering a JV with KIA to assemble cars for KIA for SEA region. This is a game changer, question is, will they succeed in changing the minds of Aseans? I think hard... with Thailand and Indonesia being 2 of the biggest car market and Singapore as the most lucrative.... all 3 have 101% faith in Japanese cars.

BAuto is not going to sell KIA until they are able to change the mentality of the people in this region. This is a mentality problem, not an economic problem.

I've read many articles, they say the CEO and boards are capable, no doubt about it, but the question is, BAuto is successful because of Mazda or Mazda is successful because they came out new sexier cars? I dont see myself buying Korean cars in the near future, I've asked a few people and everybody's first choice is a Japanese car, M20 families of course.

So, the question is, can they repeat their Mazda success with KIA? I doubt so. Thais and Indonesians are into Japanese cars. This is a generation mindset, which will be hard to change, unless for some unknown reason the Japanese failed to update their cars and got eaten up by EV, which the Chinese car makers are more likely to dominate compared to the Koreans.

If they choose to assemble a Chinese EV, then I think it is worth buying. Chinese EV for SEA region. KIA for SEA? I think cannot lah....

Changing so many things.... now Chairman. How does changing a new Chairman helps this problem? Shouldn't the previous one remains to solve the problem first and then only change? This new Chairman will be clueless and not familiar with the company, at least get someone that is in the board for quite sometime, this will speed things up....

reminds me of how Steve Jobs hired John Scully as CEO. The reason he hired someone new and with no experience and knowledge in the comp industry so that he can controls him. This new Chairman will be equally clueless about Serba in and out, thus easier to tell them this and that, that is my best guess only. I dont see a need to change chairman now. As a person into IT, I've never seen such a badly designed website by the Serba IT team. Their apps are... shall I say, rubbish.

First, let's look at the website, their so called IT for O&G with VR tech and customized solutions or whatever. No screenshots of the software, no real life demo of how the software+hardware works, no downloadable demo, no detailed explanation of what the software is capable of, just lots of meaningless bullet points. This is worse that a fake software website, at least you get more details from a fake software website.

Look at Huawei's O&G solution, got 'Get Pricing/Info', got 'Case Study', you can download 'Brochure and Data Sheets'.

Baker Hughes also have something similar with lots of detailed explanation of what their software and solution do.

Third, Karim appears to be desperate to turn Serba into an IT company. In an article in theedge, Serba said they will put the block 7 project under the IT section and not EPCC. I find this very deceiving. I can accept if part of it goes to EPCC and part of it goes to IT if Serba does supply some IT stuff, but 100% goes to the IT department? He is trying too hard hoping investor will re-evaluate Serba with higher PE on par with the tech companies.

Put it that way, anyone wants to invest in palm oil or metal counter? Palm oil price going down, but united plantation fundamental is good, the best managed plantation with the higher yield per hectar. and also pmetel, china will release their aluminum stock to push down the price, fundamentally pmetel is good, 2 new factory will be up and running soon, anyone wants to buy pmetel now?

It is the same argument, ASP for glove down so nobody wants to invest, just like how many are selling utdplt and pmetel now.

TG holders with paper loss cannot accept this, kept on saying dividend. UtdPlt also give good dividend. somemore confirm food inflation in 10 years time, confirm palm oil price will go up, can confirm glove price will go up?

Serba is trying hard to push up the revenue for their IT department. Take a look at their apps and IT website... especially their so called IT for O&G, no screen shot, no demo, no detailed description... nothing, just bullet points with nice animations.

If I want to invest in Palm Oil stock, I'll go for United Plantation. When steel and aluminum price went up, all related companies made huge profit. But when Palm Oil price went up, why some even made losses? Why some never saw a spike in profit? and those that do have an increase in earnings only see a small bump as oppose to the huge spike in palm oil price? This goes to show the palm oil price has not much effect on the profitability of a palm oil company.

1. Low harvest (PH removed the fertilizer subsidies when they came into power)
2. Labor shortage
3. Windfall tax
4. Demand drop (but picking up now)
5. Fertilizer price went up (important factor)
6. Labor wages went up
7. Rats problem due to shortage of labor in managing them

In the end, back to square one. My family are heavily involved in palm oil industry and I sort of know what is going on. Not all palm oil counters are created equal, maybe IJM PLT can make huge profit, but for long term, UTD PLT is still the best managed palm oil co.

You are so certain CPO Price will only rise... hmmm.... I dont even dare to predict the future direction.

A weaker quarter if remove the one off gain but still very good. I have no idea what the reasonable valuation for QL is because it depends on individual basis, short term it is hard to tell, for long term... as in very long term just do dollar cost averaging.

The right question is, how much you paid for your food 10 to 20 years ago, then ask yourself, how much do you think food will cost in 10 to 20 years from now.
