Haha, reach was once claimed to be on par with hibiscus. But it hardly make any profit and all those dream talk by CEO. And thus the price plummet by 50% till now

@dexeric, after tax. Just a rough interpolate from DNEX result for anasuria.
2019-11-19 15:50 | Report Abuse
@superpanda, i try to do some rough calculation.
Based on Dnex result, anasuria projected with only profits around 15mil (looks like the maintenance eat some of its profits this quarter).
And North sabah will most likely offload 1 cargo this quarter, where contributes 16mil (estimated).
So most likely Hibiscus's profit looking at 30mil+- this quarter.
For sure YOY will decreased, hopefully QoQ will be better.
2019-11-18 18:16 | Report Abuse
DNEX just release their QR, comments on Ping Petroleum "Higher share of PBT from associate of RM1.0 million".
Looks like anasuria is doing fine.
40mil seems achievable as mentioned by @superpanda.
2019-11-18 13:32 | Report Abuse
ya, downside is minimum with asset per share is standing at about 80 cents per share (estimated).
So worst come to worst just drop another 15% ( i hope it will happen, lol).
But son is a bit pricey for me, and dont forgot it will dropped by another 6 cents in another 4 months time. So it is pretty short holding term for hibiscus to get extracted for its full value. It will be kind of like a bet that will hibiscus bloom in 4 months time if buying at this point

@superpanda, start to place your bet on upcoming QR? haha
I am a bit skeptical on upcoming QR, so i still holding my top up a bit.

@superpanda, retail investors like to chase high, how many been chasing high in hibiscus also and cut lost at the end. Then start complaining, haha

Haha, hibiscus was once a top traded stock and now categorized as 'old man' stock.

@Ron90, we should buy when a stock is less popular till it become hot for some reason. Just like dayang, uzma, carimin, when it is lying on the ground, did public realize it, buy in and make good fortune for it?

@miz raya, dont need to wait for them or dont even need to care them at all (or maybe all just imaginative).
Look at the value/cash added by hibiscus alone, ignore the price (aka noise). The cash/asset growth alone already cukup makan (8 cent per year), sleep soundly when u know got a company everyday printing money for you. haha

In chinese proverbs, gold will shine no matter you bury it deep down the ground. Just sit back and relax, while keep on collecting its shares while it is cheap. It is all patience game hete, and and dont let any otger fund managers grab your shares cheap

But anyhow, i dont mind it didnt go up at all. The company keep on piling up its cash and the stock price remains the same. Means the stock getting more and more attractive with higher and higher safety margin. And it gives chance for us to keep on buying, haha

@Miz Raya, 3) is most likely the case for me as you can see almost all top 30 shareholders are funds and they control almost half of outstanding shares

ya, CHESS is between thailand HESS and carigali.
Exxon's field is brown field (many years been developed & produced), hence oil production is not as good as before. There's the reason why they wanna sell it. But with detail study and cost saving, the field will still be profitable enough. Some other local oil company been doing good with these brown field.
CHESS field is still relatively new, i doubt they will wanna sell a young and good producing field
2019-11-08 11:46 | Report Abuse
@superpanda, I roughly calculate hibiscus' net profit for coming quarter estimated around 36mil MYR.
With some margin of error and conservative number. With oil sold at 60 usd/bbl, higher opex on maintenance, normal tax rate as before.
So there's chance that you need to belanja starbuck, haha.

@Miz Raya Bloom, how true is that news?
Malay Basin so far i know is repsol, exxonmobil, HESS & CHESS (carigali + Hess).
I was expecting exxon as they have intention to sell

@Management have no control of share price as it all depends on Mr.market. So what they could focus is to keep on growing their business and making more profits to shareholders. And price will follow a long, not the other way round.
It is not a right mindset when you blame management because you losing money, coz you are the one who decide to buy at wrong timing, wrong pricing. You do your own diligence before put your own hard earned money in. Keep on blaming will not makes your investment successful

Hopefully can continue go lower la. 90c, 80c or 70c, i would really hope it go even cheaper for collection.
Mr.market gives 11.11 sales, why not?

perhaps they wanna announce on SF30 drilling result? So the price rally ahead?
2019-11-05 07:32 | Report Abuse
i am side with @ongth60, this coming quarter will be so so due to so so oil price, maintenance cost and also expected one offload each from anasuria and north sabah.
Probably that's the reason why the price been quite steady even though near QR release date.
Market didnt put too much expectation on hibiscus on coming quarters thus not actively traded.

maybe this numbers will let you to sleep better at night.
Institutional holds 33.12% in march 2018, and now they hold 46.8% in Sep 2019.
Increase of almost half of their holdings in one and half year time.
Why you think institutional keep on buying from retail investors?

@dexeric, only 3c lost, few percent only. Learn with @teoct sifu. He never worry on his stock up or down or not, and he dont even bother if hibiscs price drop. I am sure he is still holding and at same time reap good profit from dayang also.

Malay basin means area at peninsular side (kelantan & kuantan there). And the international player in malay basin from what i know is exxonmobil, repsol, HESS and CHESS.
So far only exxonmobil have interest to sell, so there's a probability here.
@Miz Raya Bloom, if i know why then i believe i will be the next warren buffett. haha. Anyhow, what we can do is keep on buying when it is low, and continue to wait for it.
By the way, look at the bright side. Hibiscus is increasing net asset at almost 10% per year. So even the price not follow, hibiscus will grow your money at rate of 10%. If this can maintain , why worry about it?

@dexeric, the australia site so far have no firm plan to develop yet from hibicus. Even if they do, australia will only contribute later than sunflower and marigold. Thus if they project australia contribution then it should be 2022 or later.
And comment below in annual report that catch my eyes:
"We foresee that for our sector:
• There will be new venture opportunities emanating in Malaysia as the fields in the Malay Basin mature and established players review their portfolios."
So will it be exxonmobil? We will know hopefully by 2020
2019-11-04 13:55 | Report Abuse
Just having a thought, why hibiscus set a 2021 mission of producing more than 20,000bbl/day while Marigold & sunflower will only start producing on 2023.
It somehow let me think that they have something in hand already, something they know how much it cost (hence they plan to get loan) and how much that field is producing (thus can project to reach mission 2021). And seeing many international player leaving brownfield in malaysia, could it be hibiscus already have something in progress of acquisition.
Not sure which, but exxonmobil's recent selling of its own malaysia field seems kind of fitting into the puzzle.

@dexeric, hibiscus plan to raise more fund to find more opportunity to achieve 2021 target.
And even they get it back from REX, they should use it to reduce the loan amount which indirectly gives more benefits to shareholders. (with lower gearing and lower interest).
If hibiscus really giving dividend, then i will doubt the management's competence.
2019-11-01 16:32 | Report Abuse
@shinnzaii, i think hibiscus coming quarter will be so so only, the increase in oil from saint joseph will be offset by the planned maintenance. And the lower oil price offset by conversion rate of USD/MYR and also USD/GBP.
But hibiscus should not evaluated based on quarters by quarters as it it limited by the number of offloads, but it keep on producing oil everyday.
So it should evaluated based on one whole year oil production.

@pengyou.....no dividend la.....why u wan dividend when hibiscus can grow your money at high percentage......they need money to grow and reward the shareholders

yup, approximate that value. but may put a margin of 10-20% for maintenance, natural declines, unexpected downtime etc.

Finally some news on GUA-P1, additional 1800bbl/day.
The relevant hydrocarbon bearing zones were perforated on 16 August 2019. The well was subsequently cleaned-up and hydrocarbons were flowed to surface. The well achieved a stabilised gross production flow rate to the Anasuria FPSO of approximately 1,800 bbl/day (900 bbl/day net to our Group). The total capital expenditure net to Anasuria Hibiscus for this project is estimated to be RM100.4 million.

what figure?
"Our consistency in delivering these metrics over the past few years has encouraged us to develop a Dividend Policy which we have recently disclosed. We hope that in the not too distant future, we will be in a position to distribute dividends."
Those who expect dividends, dont expect too much. Hibiscus is still growing, the money need for growth not for giving dividend.
