Do not read too much into AUKUS. It is a pure commercial deal to sell overpriced US weapons to Australia and also countries in Indo-Pacific region.

and how do you use chemweapons to defend against long range strikes by air or sea
you can't
2021-09-30 19:41 | Report Abuse
but becos chemweapons have been officially prohibited, you can be targetted punished by some big hegemonic power like US if you are reported to have used it, even on your own rakyat
even if the evidence is not that strong & clear
obama almost ordered an invasion of syria in 2013 when someone reported that damascus had used chemweapons against opponents of assad
fortunately, it was only aborted after the combined intervention & diplomacy of russia & turkey

Sep 28 :
"As Merck & Co (MRK.N) and Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) prepare to report clinical trial results for experimental COVID-19 antiviral pills, rivals are lining up with what they hope will prove to be more potent and convenient oral treatments of their own.
Enanta Pharmaceuticals (ENTA.O), Pardes Biosciences, Japan's Shionogi & Co Ltd (4507.T) and Novartis AG (NOVN.S) said they have designed antivirals that specifically target the coronavirus while aiming to avoid potential shortcomings such as the need for multiple pills per day or known safety issues."
It appears there's now a competition among pharmaceutical companies to release Covid antiviral pills.

they just need to amend the word 'father ' in that pertinent section of the constitution to 'father or mother' to take account of latest global level developments in gender equality
it's only a small amendment to be made, the great majority of rational minded right thinking MPs would support it, I reckon
