This morning, I saw the buy queue at 37.5 sen was much lower, so I changed my buy queue to 37 sen instead. Apparently, it was not done today. Lol.
While there could be some sporadic selling on MCO jitters, I saw it as a temporary setback, which will get over one day. Moreover, Malaysia's vaccines rollout is said to be on the way too. Once the economy recovers, chances for GST implementation(an added bonus) could be reevaluated in a more positive light.

Today, penny stocks are weak due to an extended MCO just announced in the afternoon. But this counter still closes unconvincingly at 38 sen. Operator stacked up buyers at 37.5 sen, so we could only queue far behind.
What a smart operator! But I can wait...

What a close at 37.5 sen!

Today, market was pretty hot, stirred up by some speculative plays and punters had a good field day.
Among the more popular names, JCY enjoyed a good run, up 5.5 sen. The operator pushed it up on very huge trading vol(top 5th most active) to attract lots of buyers.
But this is what happens next after market closed:

So, this is another classic example of pump and dump! Do not play play. Invest wisely.

Last December, I bought into a few select counters in anticipation of this January rally. So far, only this counter is not performing yet.
From my result, I can conclude that counters that were whacked down more tend to move up much faster than the rest. Apparently, this counter was less actively traded and hence, less of an incentive to move up yet, until the operator has collected enough shares from the frustrated.
This operator is really testing our patience, which I have had plenty of it. I have set aside some funds to top up more at below 50 sen.

Global markets are pretty bullish about 2021 on vaccine rollout and expected economic recovery. Domestically, emergency declaration helps to remove the political overhang in the country temporarily, while allowing the focus to shift towards containing the spread of Covid-19, amid a resurgence in cases.

Well, the 52-week high is 77.5 sen. A more realistic target would be 60+ sen(eg 65 sen). Based on the last traded price of 53.5 sen, that is already a 21% ROI, way higher than the current FD rate. A break above 70 sen might require a stronger catalyst.

Today, I had a rather busy day, trying to offload some steel shares that I had managed to pick up on the cheap recently when I saw the operator push it down deliberately.
As I have said, January is traditionally the best calendar month of the year for small and mid-cap stocks. So, if this fever carries on and spills over, the tide can eventually lift this laggard counter up too.
Let's wait and see.

I managed to top up some, but less than what I would have hoped for. While some are worried about a total lockdown, I would think it is highly unlikely, due to the high economic costs incurred.
Anyway, steel counters stage a comeback too, after a shakeout.

At a casino, I notice that some pp like to bet against a dominant group of players in an opposing bet box. Why? They feel safer to be on the same side as the banker(casino-operator).
Likewise, when the market operator is seen to be collecting our shares in a market meltdown when many dump their shares, wouldn't it be wiser to collect as well? Sure, he will churn up the shares when market has improved.
Food for thought.

Yesterday, Bursa market saw a sea of red, with 1040 losers vs 353 gainers. KLCI was up 30 points, but the broader market was spooked by rising Covid-19 cases and possibly strict MCO measures to be announced on Monday. Market operators took this opportunity to whack down prices of many counters, notably steel counters, Awanbiru Technology and many others.
As I have said, when the broader market is bad, this counter would not be spared. So, it was churned down as well. Now, it is coming close to my next top-up price target of around 53 sen.
There is a marked difference between a punter and a bargain hunter. A punter likes to act on a "bright" green price signal while a bargain hunter likes to see red.
History has shown that any short-term major price correction is usually a good buying opportunity to sell on a rebound.

The company is going into midstream LPG business(for higher profit margins?). Whether the share price will go up will depend on how successful the company can turn around the business.
Frankly, I am not able to comment.

Gentlefolk, I have already explained earlier why this counter has not been too active. You may check back my past postings.
Usually, we invest for 2 things: capital gain or/and dividend. Unfortunately, this counter does not declare dividends as it needs extra funds for transformation. So, we can only go for capital gains. This explains why punters/traders will be keenly attracted to buy only when trading vol is ramped up as a result of more active churnings by the operator on positive catalysts, eg release of good quarterly results and/or sale of assets, etc.
As CPO prices are doing well, we can at least expect good quarterly results from the company's plantation business last quarter and this quarter, plus possibly some more asset sale news in the making.
To be very frank, a discerning investor will like to nibble at counters when trading vol is very low and price, attractive. But this is no easy feat as it requires some skills and knowledge of the company. Fortunately, we can use the dollar cost averaging method to average out our buying costs.
To invest longer-term, a company must demonstrate a proven track record of consistently good profits in a growing industry, plus declaring dividends on a regular basis.
Just my views.

I was spot on to say that genuine selling had almost dried up. After churning down more actively in the past 2 days, the traded vol came down to a trickle of merely 70,100 traded shares this morning.
Apparently, the market operator is taking a break and stops churning after futile attempts for now.
Talking about churning, I would say nobody can hardly beat the goreng master of Awanbiru Technology(previously known as Prestariang Berhad). After collecting cheap from a rights issue with free warrants, he started to churn up their share prices almost non-stop everyday, until his cheap rights and warrants got almost fully distributed.
This morning, he started to do a major shake-out by churning down the share prices of both the rights and warrants in huge vol, hoping to collect them back at much lower prices. A master-grade market operator indeed!

This is a new dividend policy just announced. It takes time to filter down to more interested investors.
Meanwhile, mkt operator is in no hurry to push up share prices, hoping to collect more from weak holders. Will the traditional CNY rally help? Only time will tell.

At least, we can expect good quarterly results from its plantation business last quarter and this quarter. Also, when CPO prices are good, the company will be able to dispose of its remaining plantation business at a good price too.

I was told the sharp drop of the glove counters yesterday was in large part caused by RSS(Regulated Short Selling) activities of the big boys.
Fortunately, this counter is not in the RSS list. So, it is safe from RSS attacks. We just need to put up with the day-to-day churning activities from the mkt operator. Less volatile.

Today, market mood was spoilt by counters related to the KL-Singapore HSR project cancellation and a sharp (continuing) drop in the glove counters.
When the broader market was bad, this counter was not spared too. But I am not unduly worried as it offers bargain hunters a chance to collect more.

Our market started weak on the 1st trading day of 2021, reeling from the termination of the KL-Singapore High Speed Rail(HSR) project. Many of the high fliers(eg steel counters) got sold down.
I thought I could scoop up more of this counter at much lower prices. But operator did not churn it down below 58 sen. For 58 sen, we need to queue far behind the operator. Lol.

CPO prices are at 8 years high and its last quarter's result was credible. But why is this counter still languishing at current level?
In my opinion, these are possibly the reasons:
1. Lack of coverage/promotion for this counter: No brokerage houses actively cover this counter. Even our forumers are not actively promoting this counter here.
2. The company is undergoing a transformation of business portfolios, away from plantation business and into midstream LPG business by 2021.
3. No declaration of dividends to attract longer-term investors.
The lack of interest in this counter is evidenced from the low trading volumes recently. This gives a good opportunity for the operator to collect cheap tickets on the quiet, for the next push up.
January is traditional the best calendar month of the year for small and mid-cap stocks as we gear up for the CNY. Let's see if the tide will lift up this laggard counter.
Do your own homework. Buy or sell at own risks.

Yes, the company must strive to reward minority shareholders when it is doing well. This can help to build up loyal shareholders as opposed to (short-term) traders. I checked that the company had declared periodic dividends to its shareholders in past years(eg 2018 and earlier).
