Ha,ha, looks like GST counters are still in play. After pushing down IFCA Msc Bhd and Censof Holdings this morning, they closed higher. This is a good sign, considering that the next day is a public holiday and most active counters are down.

Dead cat bounce usually refers to a counter(eg usually penny stocks) in a prolonged downtrend(with no hope of recovery). Once in a while, it is played up by the syndicates. When this happens, it is called a dead-cat bounce.

P Metal is the leader. This counter mainly follows its leader's price movement and P Metal moves faster than this counter..

BJ Corp warrant was riding on BJ Corp's back to a high of around 27 sen, from 17 sen.

The shark could have been using the mother share to push up the warrant, to benefit from the big price gain(about 60% gain) too.

Now, we are back to where the rally started. It is as if we had been on the merry-go-round and are now back to the starting point.

Good sign if Dow can hold on to 16000 pts...

What to do? It is already on huge paper loss? Even if we are prepared to cut loss, probably got to wait for a better time to sell out...or average out our holding cost(and sell out altogether later), if we still have cash...

Do not despair. Time is on our side so long as this is the spare money(not borrowed money) that we invested and we still have faith in the company. We probably lose only the opportunity cost - accrued interest on bank deposits.

Dow recovered from a loss of about 460 pts to close down 173 pts. This shows that 16,000 pts is a good support level for Dow at the moment. If Dow can hold on to this 16,000 pts level in this month, the worst could be over soon. Anyway, Dow futures is up 44 pts. Dow looks poised for an oversold bounce.

It has been said that hedge funds create havoc in world mkts. We will wait for the buy signal - capitulation.

Dow is off the day's low now, down 196 pts. Got to see if it can hold on to 16,000 pts.

The recent shares rout may make Fed Reserve delay its plan to hike the interest rate.

In this highly volatile market, we do not know where the bottom is. Perhaps as a prudent measure, you should wait for situations to settle down first before investing, esp if that is your last bullet.

For the cash rich ones, you can slowly invest in equal tranches(eg 4 tranches) over this period of time to average out prices. Eg if price drops 20%, invest 1st tranch and if it drops another 20% again, 2nd tranch and so on. Never put in all your money at one go and provided that the counter is a fundamentally sound counter.

This counter should benefit from GST implementation. After all these bad bouts of selling, it should recover.

Few factors for the global sell-down:
1. Fed rate hike - full withdrawal of QE3 and the uncertainty of US rate hike;
2. Fear of Euro zone slipping into a recession again;
3. October month is traditionally a bad month for stocks;
4. Fear of Ebola spreading.

Stockists are good at exploiting bad mkt sentiments to short down share prices for gains.

Few brave buyers? All scared of falling knives...

Who says high NTA is of no use? High NTA is said to cushion any drastic fall in share price and it also provides a basis for the company's shares buy-back program...

This counter is supported by the following strengths:
1. NTA per share is RM 1.06(based on 31/7/14 report);
2. Dividend payment(2 sen per share for last financial year).

Investors may ride thru' short term volatility, so long as our mkt has not turned into a bear market.

Dow futures is up 73 points now as US banks report earnings. Hopefully, US banks earnings can beat forecast again.

Technical rebound is a rebound from oversold situations. If the mkt is really bearish, the price may still go down after the rebound. Anyway, now the Dow futures is up only 9 points. Not sure if the US mkts can close higher.

Dow futures is up 43 points now. Hopefully, tonight Dow could rebound strongly and lead Asian mkts higher tomorrow. But this does not mean that the worst is over. It could just be a technical rebound.

Pmetal is the industry leader. This counter needs to follow its price trend too.
