I questioned that too. I took a look at the 2017 audited accounts. The 7 sub-plots were purchased via acquistion of a company called Duta Nilai Holdings Sdn. Bhd. for RM165.1 million. The deal involved assuming all other assets and liabilities of Duta Nilai.

At consolidation, the acquisition cost of the 7 sub-plots was reflected as ‘acquisition through business combination’ at a value of RM391.6m. That’s shown in the PPE note (Note 10).

Yesterday’s blog posting said corporate deal makers could be circling Seacera. Today terus got new substantial shareholder!

Why should we ikan bilis be bothered about directors selling the land or not? If someone out there wants to buy the land, it is much cheaper by doing a takeover. Buy up 30%, trigger a mandatory general offer, and they get the land for a fraction of its value.

In the meantime, there will be a scramble for Seacera shares. And the share price rockets up!

That is true if you are able to acquire the controlling stake of the company as you will then have control. You are also then able to leverage on the intrinsic value of the said company to earn future profits from your other ventures.

But it is fool's gold if you are a minority shareholder. Your only exit point is via the open market and the open market will not pay you your capital + 'instant profit'. From a cash flows point of view, you make no profit and neither are you in a position to make any.

What good is a profit that you cannot materialise?

In my opinion, theoretically you are correct, practically it is syiok sendiri.

a. Prices at 18 May 2018 close:

MOPS Mogas 95 - $87.882
MOPS Gasoil - $91.052
Brent Crude - $78.51

3:2:1 crack spread = ($175.76 + $91.05 - $235.53) / 3 = $10.42


b. Crack spread based on FIFO of 1 month inventory.

Brent Crude (18 April 2018) - $73.48.

3:2:1 crack spread = ($175.76 + $91.05 - $220.44) / 3 = $15.46

Subsidy does not affect producers. Example, hengyuan sells at market price to Shell. Shell sells at government price to consumers. Difference in profit margin, government pays to Shell. That's how subsidy works.

i do not think Petronm , PetDag related stocks will shoot up because they got the obligation to provide more subsidies to the present gov manifesto to reduce the fuel price to a liter at 1.50 . The reason being they are part of gov GLC....They are formed to serve the rakyat not their pockets.

In my opionion, most of his questions on inventories, trade receivables, other receivables, cash, trade payables, review of Q42017 queries are not relevant for an AGM.

These are questions the directors ask their management team, and not questions that shareholders ask directors at an AGM.

It sounds like shareholders are trying to micro-manage the business. If I were a director of hengyuan, i will even find some of these questions offensive.

HY management knows exactly at what level China and their own refineries in Shangdong China would go to flood asian market with refined oil....and the room for margin squeeze (using Dubai Crude in China which is cheaper by 4 USD/brl compared to Brent).

Thus, they know exactly the level of margin depression HY is about to face.....

They them self are the market maker....of course they know HY cannot afford a higher dividend than 2 cents.
