Entering 5L regime:
Lower share price.
Lower deposit rates.
Lower epf returns.
Lower growth.
Lower exchange rate.
Few may have turned into N, negative.
This is the post-Covid world. We must learn to live with it.

A fund manager has other means to cut risk other than diversification.
It was reported in Nov 2019 in WSJ that Ray Dalio's hedge fund has placed a bet north of $1 billion that global stocks will fall by March 2020.The position is made up of put options that could pay out to Bridgewater Associates if the S&P 500, the Euro Stoxx 50, or both drop in value (Put options are contracts that grant investors the right to sell stocks at a predetermined price by a specific date.)

A fund manager has to diversify because he is managing other ppl's money. He is paid to do the job. Nobody paid him to keep all the investor's funds in cash. At times when he should have disposed his entire portfolio, he is not able to do so. Hence, he has to diversify.
Whereas, when we are managing our own money, why is there a need to diversify ? Diversification does nothing to protect you from a loss since the whole market is going deep down.
"The nature of risk" by Justin Mamis, a former executive at the NYSE is good reading. I think you download it in the net for free. I still have this hardcover book in my library.

Hi, I am not sifu. The truth is if u are flush with cash when the KLCI plunged to the bottom, u would have make money by buying some dirt cheap shares. When u are flush with cash, u would be more comfortable taking a bit of risk.

we always take research house reports with a pinch of salt. U can see lots of research house predicting interest rates to go down n down as though monetary policy is the cure for the downturn.
In Japan, interest hit zero but the recession lasted 11 years. Only fiscal policy can lift up the economy. Remember how the huge expenditure on armaments in face of the onslaught of the 2nd WW brought the Great Depression to an end ?

The problem is the US wants a free ride insisting on other nations cutting. Texas said they will go on producing the oil. Saudi Arabia continue to give deep discount to keep their market share. China, the biggest oil consumer n with the biggest storage buys from Russia n Saudi Arabia.
The solution is "shared prosperity" not supremacy.
Mexico, which hedged their oil in the futures market, has locked on the price of USD600 n is reluctant to cut their production further.

US can solve negative oil price by giving the oil free to China since it has the most storage capacity. Then US oil will have to chance to go above zero.

US prints currency, strengthened its ex rate. If we follow to print, our ex rate will be? That is the beauty, same policy but different results.
The disadvantage is it caused a lot of US companies to close down or move abroad. Who would want to buy a US made spade for RM78.00 when I can buy one at RM11.00 ?

US senators are all clueless. They filed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia after Sept 11 attacks, but they could not get Saudi Arabia to pay.
They mean that if yr neighbour cough n u catch a cold, u can sue your neighbour.
The senators who attended US foreign intelligence briefings in Jan, quickly and quietly sold off all their shares in the market. US already knew about the pandemic since Jan.
US T bills does not have the name of the owner printed on it, any holder can just sell it down. They claim US T bills n bonds are the safest in the world. How safe is it ? These are all lies.
