Wen Jun, the more I update and view the chart, the more confused I get :)
Bollinger Bands are tightening and will eventually be tighter than a duck's backside, so something has to eventually break to the up or downside.
A few other indicators are looking neutral and the short term moving average is almost directionless.
Price action remains constant with a bias towards the upside, IMO.
Perhaps just tossing a coin might be just as accurate as the technicals in making a decision :)

Hi Wen Jun......so it will either go up, or go down, or remain the same?
I'd say you will probably be right :)
Joking aside, it is a tough call. I've thought about topping up but don't quite have the nerve for it yet, considering the overall market sentiment. The support it's been getting from buyers has been quite surprising though. That should be a good sign.......but......

There was over 1.2 million for sale at 1.30 and slowly but surely they chewed through it.
The price pattern on this has been very impressive even while the market was shaky. It has been a pleasant surprise to me.

Technically, a better chance of this puppy moving up now that Monday's gap has been closed today.
Although, Monday's little price and volume spike with the gap has messed up the chart short term. I preferred the look of the chart more at last Friday's close.

Tenaga Stock Analysis
**********************************************************
You call that a stock analysis.....really?
Also, I'm beginning to wonder if the more people who say the same totally incorrect statement eventually believe it is true. The point in question is regarding the statement about Tenaga losing income because of the discount given during the Covid period. This is a fallacy as the government has repeatedly said that the discount is paid by the government through one of their Covid financing programs.
This "analysis" is kindergarten stuff and gives no insight into forward projections over short and longer term periods. Nice video with pretty graphics (I think borrowed from the Tenaga website) but surely can't be considered an analysis of the company for those who are considering investing in the stock.

A nice post, Aries, thanks for taking the time to write it.
For those interested in the importance of renewable energy, especially in the Asean region, there are plenty articles online if you care to do a Google search. The figures on power growth needs in the region over the next 5 and 10 years and beyond are quite staggering. The assumptions of renewable energy sources over those periods are also quite astounding. The Covid pandemic has slowed the expected growth figures, however once this is beaten, or at least subdued, then the consumption estimates over the region come back into play.
As for Solarvest and its position in the industry, it is not unique as there are many players in the industry. However, since being formed as a private company back in 2012 it has exponentially grown since then, culminating in being publicly listed in November 2019. Clearly the reason for the listing was to tap into the capital markets to finance their growth plans.
To date, they appear to have a solid growth plan and apart from the effects of the Covid MCO lockdown period, their financials are starting to mirror their growth plans.
As with any company planning growth in a growth sector, there are risks. However, if the plans stay on course the rewards for shareholders can be attractive. To date, the company appears to be adhering to their growth plans by putting a toe into the water beyond Malaysia, by commencing operations in the Philippines and Taiwan.
Only time will tell if this approach will be successful, however, as a shareholder I'm very enthusiastic and obviously hope for a very positive outcome.
One day I'll either be proven right or wrong. That's the risk when investing in companies with a growth plan.

Hi Jake,
I'd say the ones who were calling Rm4 and Rm5 by the end of the year were simply pump and dump merchants. Don't get hooked by that type of bait, IMO.
If you want to scroll back to around September/ October last year in the Solarvest forum you can see the opinions of a few posters who highlight the potential and risks of this stock and the overall renewable energy sector.
Have a good weekend.

If anyone has any idea what's going on with this stock then please let me know, as I'm all out of ideas!
The only time it behaved in the expected chart pattern was the move from 46 to 53.5 and since then no matter how the chart potential looked for a move up, it seemed to get held back. My initial thoughts were accumulation but I'm starting to even dismiss that idea.
And today, with the opportunity for any manipulators to smash it down an easy 5% or even 10% while the market was getting slammed, it ends unchanged for the day!!
Even EPF are buying scraps in here to add to their current 119.5 million shareholding. What am I missing here?

Yes, Friday's candle is an engulfing candle.
For those who are not familiar with charting, a bullish engulfing candle is generally a reversal sign. That DOESN'T mean that the following day the stock will spike up but it does indicate that the price decline should start to reverse and move up in a general pattern.
So for those who like to "pump" a stock, this pattern doesn't mean it can be used for a pump and dump strategy :). You know who you are :)
Keep it real and it should move nicely over time.

Joyce, CLOSING prices are the best indicators to use and it never closed below 47.5 in its downtrend. If you remember, I mentioned 47 and 47.5 as key support levels.
Lower intraday prices can muddy the picture as intraday prices can be easily manipulated. I'd suggest to always use the closing price as any reference point.

HI Wen Jun, your post encouraged me to look at the Aeon chart. I understand what you mean but I'm not as bullish as you are on price targets.
The Bollinger Bands are definitely tightening and volume is low but other indicators are not leading me to see any substantial rise yet. I hope I'm wrong !! :)
What I have noticed though is that shorting has stopped this week and also some of the borrowed stock has been returned. Perhaps they realise they can't push it down enough? I don't know.
All the best.

I forgot to mention in my chart analysis about the volume. Look out for increasing volume. After a week of relatively low volume, it increased on Friday to 4.2 million. Look for gradual increases next week to help a price rise.

Joyce, never put any faith in market depth. The buy or sell lines can be loaded to make it look either strong or weak. I suggest you always keep a closer eye on the volumes and the trend. That's why I spend a lot of time analysing the charts and Fibs.
2021-03-27 11:20 | Report Abuse
Onto the technicals......
The chart is showing signs of an upward move. Prior to closing on its high of 50.5 on Friday, the Stochastics were crossing over to the positive. Therefore with a day high close, that reinforced the crossover.
The MACD is tightening and probably only needs a 1 cent or 1.5 cent rise to cross over, another good sign.
The short term Moving Average is currently at 48.67, so Friday's close clearly moved the price above the Moving Average.
What is interesting is the Stochastics. If you recall from a post about 2 weeks ago, I mentioned the Stochastics were in an overbought position and needed a pull back to bring it down. I was hoping 50 would have held but as we now know, it broke down to the 47/47.5 support level. What IS INTERESTING is that the Stochastics have dropped to where they were on February 26 when the price was 43 cents. Over a 2 week period the price rose from 43 to a closing highs of 53 and 53.5 over 2 days.
So, could this possible move up finally try to break the 55 to 57 cent level? I've no idea but it's certainly a possibility, depending on what the "market makers" decide to do.
Guessing on a positive overall market on Monday, so let's see what Econ can do for the faithful :)
Break points remain the same as I posted about 3 weeks ago.
2021-03-27 10:29 | Report Abuse
Solarvest is showing tentative early signs of a reversal off the 1.50 price point. From the current price move which took it up from 1.44 on the 24th February to the 1.86/1.87 area (using post Bonus Issue prices), it broke all the Fib points on the way down to 1.50 late this week. The Fib retracement was going to be deep due to the Bonus Issue stock entering the market with 61.8% or 76.4% probably being tested. A full 100% retracement would have taken it down to 1.44 and the 76.4% point was around 1.54/1.55, so closing on Thursday at 1.50 was around a half way point between those retracement levels.
A genuine reversal should start to mirror the downward Fib points, so I'd be looking at these figures as break points on the way back up:
TP1: 1.54/1.55 ( closed above this level on Friday but still in play, interesting to note that it bounced off that level a few times on Friday)
TP2: 1.60 (coincidently reached a day high of 1.60 but stopped)
TP3: 1.65
TP4: 1.69/1.70

Sunshine,......"sudden spurt"? Buying at half a cent above the previous price can't be called a spurt :). If it closed at 52 or higher on high volume then we can call it a spurt.
A simple answer to your question would be, the buyer(s) took out all the legitimate shares for sale up to 50.5. When I say legitimate sells I mean all the ones that don't include the capping shares, as they were removed during the auction period.
252K was bought during the end of day auction which was ALL the genuine sellers at that price on the day. I could possibly suggest if there was more volume at that 50.5 price point they may have also taken all of it out.
2021-03-27 08:58 | Report Abuse
Joyce, if there was around 900K for sale at 50 around 4pm, then clearly the "sells" were withdrawn, as there was no buying volume of that size sold before the market closed.
It was probably just a fake wall of sells, to persuade genuine sellers to sell their shares at 49.5. Only a very small amount of shares were sold at that price in the afternoon, which could mean any genuine selling at this level is drying up.
I'll take a look at the chart after a "wake me up coffee" and see how it's looking.

Yea step by step is better thn suddenly limit up , let it grow stedily :)
****************************************
That sounds like a good new slogan for a condom company. :)
Anyway, on to your question, if I understand it properly.
Firstly, I wasn't around this afternoon so I don't know how much was in the sell queues at 50 and 50.5.
Up to the lunch break, volume was 2,990,000.
Total volume for the day was 4,281,800.
So afternoon volume dropped off, total 1,291,800.
Of that afternoon volume, 252,000 was bought at 50.5 at the closing auction, which was the highest price of the afternoon session.
So my question to Joyce is, just before the market closed was there more than 252,000 shares for sale at 50.5?
If the answer is yes, there was 500K or 750K etc., then it would indicate that someone was putting a cap on the price at 50.5, wanting sellers to jump down to 50 and 49.5 to sell their shares, so that the buyer can accumulate the shares at sub 50.5. That is a fairly standard game that gets played by accumulators who own stock to place at a slightly higher selling price, not expecting to get hit (bought).
Make sense? I think that was what you were asking, if not, then ask again :)

Rider, one man"s trash is another man's treasure. It's all about timing.
Back in September and October last year there were only a few of us posting on Solarvest and commenting about the mid and long term potential of the company, price then was in the 1.20 to 1.25 range.
My thoughts at the time were that Solarvest was a growth company operating in an early stage growth sector. Nothing has changed in that opinion.
As for you calling it trash, all I can state are the facts. Since buying in the low 1.20's less that 6 months ago, the company has:
A) Share price increases of 100%+.
B) Paid shareholders a dividend.
C) Issued free Warrants = FREE money.
Current price weakness (of sorts) is due to:
A) Issue of Bonus shares
B) A soft and directionless overall market.
C) Selling by some of their Bonus shares
D) Stop loss sales.
I wouldn't be too hasty to write off Solarvest so eagerly. The song remains the same, a growth stock in a growth sector. As long as the company is managed well I can still see a very bright future. On current performance they seem to have a well thought out long term plan.
All the best.
