Treetop, your date with Bursa is getting nearer. Cheers bro.

****************************************

Hi lionel messi, I think there will be a lot of wining and dining before I consummate my relationship with this one :)

Short term concern is the 6.80 level and my gut feeling in this current situation is that it could break below that level at some point.
If the Instos see the opportunity to keep shorting this counter then it could go anywhere, so I'd suggest caution with this stock, at least in the shorter term to see how it unfolds.

All the best, buddy.

I thought I'd repost something I put up in here back in July when a few of us were having some very good discussions about Bursa.
As most will know, I've felt that the stock had a good possibility of going below Rm7, due to lower EPS than the very recent past. I based that opinion on annualised EPS in my opinion heading down to 40 cents, or thereabouts.

For the short term, 6.80 is a fairly important level to try and hold, as it did yesterday.

See the July post below.

Just to bore you all a bit more :) here are some Fib numbers.

8.12, broken. Interestingly, it flirted around that area for the last 2 weeks of May before eventually falling. No surprise there considering the overall market sentiment.

Next, 7.46. Still to be tested. Whether it gets there is an unknown.

Next, 6.80. IF 7.46 breaks down then the next Fib target is 6.80. That doesn't mean it will drop to 6.80 but if it was to get close then you wouldn't want to see it broken.

vcpmaster123, I didn't say the result was bad. Personally, I think it is in line with expectations. The quarters with 15 cents EPS are going to be a distant memory for a while and these kind of results will be the new normal for a period of time.

Investors should probably be looking for an annualised EPS around 40 cents, imo.

Stock

Quarter EPS of 9.90 cents, a little bit below my guestimate of around 10.5 cents.
We might see a retest of the 7.35 area in upcoming days, imo.

lol lionel messi, we have differing opinions of a "soul mate". I have a bit more exotic taste than Bursa could ever offer :)

Stock

2021-10-23 10:53 | Report Abuse

Brutus and lionel messi, we seem to be thinking along similar lines.
My guesstimate would possibly see an EPS drop of around 5%, so perhaps 10.5 cents. Pure guesswork though.

That 7.80 close on October 15 appears to have halted any further upside for a while, IMO. I'd say 7.55 is a fairly important level and if broken then it might revisit and test the 7.30/7.35 area.

I've noticed fairly regular shorting of the stock over the past few weeks so perhaps the fund managers are thinking the same way as us.

Bursa is a stock that I'm keen to hold as a long termer but I just can't pull the trigger at Rm7+ prices......with that in mind, I'll probably never be lucky enough to get in...lol.

Patience is a virtue, so I'm told :)

Technically sitting on the short term Moving Average and ideally needs to move up from this point.
A move up and close at 42.5 sometime during the upcoming week would keep this still in the game.

A close below 39 would be disappointing.

It's frustrating seeing the Tenaga price sitting in the current price range, however, it is understandable. The Funds currently buying the stock are not going to move the price upwards until they can see clear signs that EPF have finished with their selling.

Once EPF have moved out of the current selling, my price targets are (1)10.20, (2)10.36/10.42 and (3)10.58/10.62, providing the KLCI remains above 1,600.

An article released today has similar technical targets. See below....

***************************************************

Technical Tracker - TENAGA: Set to Rebound Soon

n line with China power crunch, TENAGA share prices had fallen 5.7% from a high of RM10.33 to RM9.76 yesterday. We continue to like TENAGA on the back of better utilities demand prospect that is driven by Malaysia’s transition into Phase 3 and 4 of National Recovery Plan.

We believe the risk-reward profile had turned attractive after recent weakness, underpinned by stable FY20-23 EPS CAGR of 5%, undemanding valuations of 11.3x FY22E (-28% vs 5Y mean 15.7x) and 1.01x P/B (-22% vs 5Y mean 1.3x) coupled with attractive DY of 5.1% for FY21-22. As such, we reckon the current sell down is mainly driven by the sentiment, and recent weakness in share prices provides a great opportunity to accumulate the stock as a recovery proxy.

Despite lingering fear that the recent surge in power energy would impact TENAGA in terms of electricity generation cost and demand for the utilities, we nonetheless are not overly concerned as the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) mechanism will allow TENAGA to transfer the fluctuation risk of fuel energy cost to end-users or be compensated by the government. With the hike in energy cost, we expect a potential surcharge of RM7.6bn in 1H22 to be pass-through. Hence, TENAGA is deemed to be neutral from the hike in energy cost. Going forward, TENAGA will continue to leverage into its power business through focusing its RE investment and will not undertake any new coal-fired power plant development, this is in line with the government pledge.

Technically, TENAGA is poised for symmetrical triangle breakout (RM9.85). A successful breakout will spur the prices toward RM10.23 before reaching our LT targets of RM 10.63. Cut lost at RM9.54.

If this is a sustainable upward move, then I'm looking for a breakout to around 1.47/1.48, followed by a second target around 1.60.

Time frame is too tricky to define right now. Let's see if it can consolidate or move forward today and tomorrow.

No short additions or covering this week=unchanged. Previous short covering was just over a week ago for 700k.

The chart is starting to look a bit more interesting but too early for any confirmation. It's being kept in check of the upper Bollinger Band, with Friday's close being a perfect example of that.

Looking for a move towards 45/46, then a break of that area will make the game much more interesting. Early days but worth keeping an eye on the gradual upward move of the upper Bollinger Band to see if the price keeps pace and in check with it.

Almost 20 million through today, very nice.

When I asked for more volume this morning I didn't expect it that quickly or by that amount so soon :)

As a side note, back in June/July the shorts on this stock had increased to just over 9 million. Currently it has dropped to 6.3 million with the last cover being last week for 700k. Might be relevant or might not be. However, if you add in the seven buys EPF have made since mid July then it MIGHT be showing a possible upside pattern.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

@Michael Kwok, good chart call for the mid term.

The 52 to 55 price zone has always been a problem for this company this year, probably understandable given the Covid situation. More of a chance now for it to eventually break that area in the mid term given the more optimistic view of the civil construction sector.

I certainly hope so, anyway :)

Gloves green but Esceram red

*************************************************

Are you really sure you want Esceram valued the same way the glove sector is being fundamentally valued?
If that was the case, as most glove companies are being valued at a PE of 3 and less, then Esceram would be valued at 20 cents maximum on a PE of 3.

Be careful what you wish for.

My query regarding the Warrants has been answered by the after market announcement last night (Wednesday).

Clearly buying/selling the Warrants to friendly hands with pre organised buying/selling on market at an agreed price on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That explains the spike in volume for the Warrants.

Stock

2021-10-06 10:24 | Report Abuse

I might be seeing something that is not actually there, but I'm getting the feeling that the mother share is being capped while the Warrants are getting bought up.

For quite some time the volume of the warrants hasn't been too significant, however since Monday this week the volume of the warrants has jumped to 4.5 million and 4.1 million (Monday and Tuesday). Even today with just over an hour since the market opened the Warrants volume is up to 3.2+ million.

Accumulation since the Main Board listing or am I seeing something that's not realty there?

"Their PR is really bad..."

That can be said for most companies on the Malaysian stock market. The majority of companies treat their shareholders like mushroom, keep them in the dark and feed them manure a few times a year.

It's such an easy fix for companies to engage with shareholders but nobody seems to care or has the initiative to do anything about it.

HI Jeff, I think you might be a little confused in thinking EPF have sold all their Tenaga shares. Yes, they have been heavy sellers in recent weeks but that is possibly due to their commitments from Covid drawdowns, however they still hold 979 million shares, 17.1%, in Tenaga.

I suspect that the current soft Tenaga price is mainly due to the EPF high volume daily selling. Their selling has been soaked up well but there is no need for anyone (Fund Managers) to push the price up until the EPF selling stops.

Comparisons may be more relevant in 12 to 24 months time if KPower can attain any traction in the solar sector.

Solarvest are solely a RE/ Solar energy sector company.

KPower are a mix of various sectors, construction, healthcare, logistics and hoping to grow their RE footprint. KPower earnings currently are heavily derived from their construction business.

Would you care to enlighten us on why you felt a comparison between both companies is relevant?

coolkwc, it might be "boring" but it is stable. That is far more important when you consider the KLCI has dropped from 1,600 to 1,520 during September.

Another plus is the fact that the shorted shares continue to slowly get covered. We have had 147,000 covered this week, up to Thursday's closing figures.

All things considered, I believe the price is holding up well.

My thoughts only, but if the KLCI can gradually move back up to 1,600+ before the end of the calendar year, then we might see Aeon attempt to take on the next Fibonacci targets of 1.60, 1.68, and 1.76.

Hi @nisah395.

That extract from my post was from August 17 and Bursa did bounce from that price zone up to a closing high of 7.71 on September 3. Unfortunately the price gain was short lived and we are now back at the mid 7.30's again.

Currently 7.30 seems like a solid support. My only small concern is the next quarterly which I think will be similar in EPS to the most recent one, which will marginally lower the rolling 4 quarters EPS.

I haven't bought into Bursa yet and will keep a close eye on the price over the next few months. The funds I'd allocated for my Bursa purchase has been moved into RHB as I readjust my portfolio in readiness for next year.

At this point in time, if it was to go sub Rm7, then I'd be a buyer. That's looking unlikely at the moment though.
