Hi Aries,
Also keep in mind that they stated that as of the end of June they had around Rm200 million worth of job orders. That was 5 months ago so we could assume that they have also picked up more contracts during that period.
And as you said, the awarding of the LSS4 contracts are supposed to be announced next month. Not only will that give revenue from the initial work order but will also have ongoing revenue associated with the contract.
A growth company working in a growth sector, a nice formula.
All the best.

A very good quarterly report as it comes out of the original MCO period from the previous quarter.
I was hoping for a revenue of at least Rm50 million and it has surpassed that, reporting Rm62.2 million. Very good result in difficult circumstances re Covid restrictions.

Can you tell me where you read this, as I have checked many news portals and haven't seen it reported anywhere.
Thanks

Disclaimer.....I bought a few extras at 1.41 because of those indicators.
Be careful with anything you buy this week though because of this damn budget outcome. No idea how the market is going to react to that farce.

It might be top up time if you are looking to buy.
Stochastics about to turn up and 1.41 is sitting right on the moving average, which it hasn't gone below since November 4th.
Not a recommendation but an observation.

"CalvinKang among all solar themes company, vsolar least movement yet. hmm
20/11/2020 10:01 PM "
Could that be because the company's business plan in renewable energy is less than inspiring? (I'm being polite here).
It might be said that some of us could produce more renewable energy out of our backside than some other companies posing as a RE business :)
Stick with those with a viable, workable and profitable business plan in this growth sector, IMO.
Having said that though, all boats rise with a rising tide, even those that look ready for the scrap yard.

What con, fruitcake?
I didn't notice until this morning that Samaiden and, to a lesser extent, Cypark also make last hour moves yesterday. I've got no idea what the significance is of these 3 solar stocks getting hit with big volume and price rises.
Samaiden volume in the first hour this morning is 80 million.....it's got me stuffed why this amount of interest is coming into that stock.

Thank Shah.
A bit disappointed as I was hoping for a 1.30 placement price, as the numbers mentioned by the company a couple of weeks ago hinted that it could be a possibility.
On the positive side, they will now be well cashed up to pursue their growth plan, so get on with it chaps. :)

Yes, a break of 1.60 will take the price into "blue sky" territory but there is a bit of work to do before it would get to that price point.
Currently I have 1.46 as the first overhead target in this recent move up. but it needs to pullback and consolidate from yesterday's very positive day.
2020-11-11 18:00 | Report Abuse
Hi fruitcake.
The first Fibonacci pull back point on this recent rise is 1.31/1.32, which is the 23.6% retrace.
The second pull back point is 1.28/1.29, which is the 38.2% retrace.
The consolidation pull back has been fairly orderly so far, no mad panic profit taking.......nice.
All going well, once this consolidation is completed, we should be looking to break 1.38 and head towards somewhere around 1.55 to 1.60 with a few little speed bumps along the way. Too early to be more accurate.
2020-11-10 10:14 | Report Abuse
The first resistance point I mentioned a couple of weeks ago at 1.38 has been hit (it actually tickled 1.39 but we wont argue over one pip.
Now look for a consolidation period before a further possible move up to break 1.38.
Hopefully that rise will be announcement driven.
All the best.

lsthien Biden almost win, this counter got any benefit on that?
In a word.......No.
IMO, the overall market has risen this week due to many expecting a "people friendly" budget.
Let's be blunt, the current PN government is hanging by a thread, so this budget is the perfect opportunity for them to appear as saviours of the rakyat and implement various financial incentives (handouts) to the lower income households.
My guess for the budget is to make it appear as helpful as possible, which of course will mean higher overall debt for the country.
I will also be VERY surprised if they don't implement the loan moratorium again, as that's an open goal for them to look good at no direct cost to the government.
I have no political affiliations, I hold them all with equal contempt, however no matter who was currently in power they would be looking at a perceived "people friendly budget" in this current Covid dilemma.
As for Solarvest, it has risen on positive overall market sentiment this week. Any positive news throughout the month should keep it firming steadily, IMO.

Yes, indeed, @Aries.
It's ticking the right boxes as far as being involved in a growth sector and are a company planning and gearing up for internal growth. That's something that shouldn't be ignored when making an investment decision.
I highlighted yesterday three known points that will be coming up this month, with each of those having varying impacts on the share price. Don't discount the importance and possible effect of joining the Main Board of KLSE this month either, as Institutions/ Funds will probably add Solarvest to their Renewable Energy Sector portfolios. As part of a balanced portfolio, Institutions are required to spread their investments over all sectors.I'm sure they are well aware of the importance of this sector.
Looking at the bigger picture up to the 2025 deadline for the Malaysian government to ensure they reduce the country's carbon footprint by 20%, I believe solar is a major component of this goal. Some other countries have done a mix of solar and wind turbines but I believe solar is by far the most logical step for Malaysia. So that all points to steady solar growth in the foreseeable future, IMO.
Those points are the main reasons I decided to invest in this company. I'm not too interested in picking up a few pips profit and moving on, I'd rather hold and see how this plays out.
I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on these points.
Have a great day!

Hi @Aries, we will just have to wait for the final outcome of the placement to see if these figures stack up. But by the company making this announcement about the number of shares to be listed, Rm1.30 fits in to the amount they want to raise in the placement.
Aside from that, November seems to be shaping up as an interesting month for Solarvest.
1. The completion of the placement, as mentioned.
2. Completion of the listing on the Main Board of KLSE.
3. Quarterly report towards the end of the month.
Those events to be followed up in December with the announcing of the successful tenders for the Large Scale Solar Scheme 4, where Solarvest seems to have ticked all the boxes there. https://www.klsescreener.com/v2/news/view/737975/big-break-for-small-players
A very interesting couple of months coming up, in my opinion, all starting this month.

https://www.klsescreener.com/v2/announcements/view/3254997
Just speculating if we can deduce anything from this announcement. This announcement states that the company are going to issue "up to 78,124,731" new shares in this proposed placement.
In the previous announcement last month regarding the placement, they stated that they planned to raise "up to Rm101,562,000" for company expansion.
Drawing a long bow here, but using those two figures (78,124,731 shares and raising Rm101,562,000), that would equate to Rm1.30 per new share.
Could that be the reason the share price has always been pushed down in recent weeks anytime it gets close to breaking Rm1.30? Meaning, don't let it break 1.30 until the placement is completed.
This is pure speculation on my behalf, I could be completely wrong but it could explain some of the weird trading in this stock in recent times.
Any thoughts?

Thanks again for posting a solar/ Solarvest related article, very much appreciated.
The possibilities in this country are almost limitless to scale up the use of solar generated power. Thankfully the government has finally bought into the story, probably mainly due to to their commitment to reduce the overall carbon footprint agreement with other nations. Now they have no choice but to fulfil that agreement.
For this to be successful in a big way, they need to offer incentives to the private sector to buy into the story to allow companies to have the right information to form mid and long term business plans where the companies get a return on their investment in a prescribed period.
As an example, imagine a site such as an Aeon mall and car park facility where you not only have a huge mall roof area but the footprint of the parking areas. By putting roofs on the parking area, all that space could be used for solar panels. Clearly there would be a high initial capital cost in doing this, however not only could the electricity be used by the mall operators but all excess power could be sold back to the grid.
A fairly straight forward business plan would be able to show the benefits to all concerned and the period of time the company would expect to get a return on their investment.
I know of normal households overseas who are able to "sell back" their excess power to the grid and has proven to be very successful. These are the avenues the Malaysian government should be looking at now.
Lots of potential in this huge growth area, with no tangible reason for it not to happen in this country.

Deciding where the low will be with this stock is a bit like choosing the winning lotto numbers.
The chart looks ugly and although it's showing oversold, I think it's impossible to select a buy price.
Aberdeen Asset are still selling and still hold 5.4% of the company, so will they sell more no matter what the price is? Simply impossible to tell.
I'm still quite keen on the stock as a buy and hold for a mid/long term investment but still not anywhere near ready to hit the BUY button yet and will look for a confirmation of a reversal in price.

klkk.......could the reason be in yesterday's company announcement?
It would make sense, purely speculating though.
As for the capping, I'd rather be holding shares in a company that appears to be capped, than a company whose shares are being artificially held up.
Something has to give, eventually.

I see they mention a first technical resistance at 1.37, I mentioned 1.38 a couple of weeks ago so I wont argue with that :)
Ideally a move up to that price region before the quarterly and Main Board listing would set it up nicely for a solid break up.
All IMO though.

Technically my indicators are showing neutral. What is clear though is a tightening of the Bollinger Bands over the last month. The BB gap (top to bottom variance) has closed from 30 points to 15 points today, which I like.
Expecting more of the same in the very short term, unless someone has a rush of blood to the head and buys big bundles :)

Aries, I agree with your comment that there seems to be a capper there keeping the price in check.
I mentioned in here almost 2 weeks ago that the chart was looking sweet and had an initial target of 1.38, however it only reached 1.29 intraday then fell away. I've kept a close eye on the buys since then and it does appear to now be in an accumulation phase.
It appears someone wants to hold it but also pick up stock along the way, as there have been some solid individual buys (200K-300K shares) actually chasing the shares when they can't ge their order filled at these current levels. Monday and Tuesday this week was a perfect example of that, with a couple of buyers chasing it to 1.26/1.27.
My gut feeling is to expect a sustained price move closer to the time of Main Board listing and the Quarterly report.
As for now, buy and hold and be patient, in my opinion.
All the best.

Any idea when they are moving to the main market of the exchange? I can't see any official date yet but I may have missed that information.
That MIGHT be a catalyst for some price movement as fund managers/Institutions could possibly add it to their energy portfolios. Purely a guess though.
There has been some significant individual buys over the last week or so, perhaps they are already taking positions.......just speculating again though.
Best of luck !!

Hi firehawk,
Yeah, similar thoughts to my own.
Had it not been for the Covid effect it wouldn't be down at current levels, so as a mid/longer term investment it should do OK. I'm currently on the look for stocks with capital growth plus a dividend, so this fits the bill to some extent. Immediately prior to the real price effects of Covid it was in the 1.30's, so with patience I can't see any current reasons that it won't head back up towards there given time and patience. A waiting game.
It's certainly not a daytrade, unless you are very, very lucky with your timing.
All the best.

Disappointing price action today.
The chart looked sweet at the beginning of the week.
Monday started well hitting 1.29 from 1.23 within the first hour.....possibly too much too soon, then fell back with the overall market.
Tuesday's rise was more controlled, up to 1.26, then again slipped back with the overall market.
Today, Thursday, at Rm1.19 mid afternoon.....again down with the overall market.....disappointing.
See what tomorrow brings~~~~~

Possibly, firehawk. It's hard to gauge though with the market down over 0.5% this morning.
I was a little bit tempted at 76/77 cents during the last few days but didn't pull the buy trigger.
My thoughts are that the September quarter figures should be better than the previous quarter, purely on MCO restrictions being lifted, so my thinking is their supermarket revenues should be up, however I'm not expecting much from department store revenues, perhaps marginal increases there.
Maybe worth a BUY, solely on the September figures possibly being better than the disaster of the June quarter.

Buying into banks is a tough call right now due to the Covid effects and how much this is going to damage the economy mid and longer term. I don't think any respected analyst would put his cock on the block and give you a definitive answer on how all of this is going to end.
I will be looking to buy into banks eventually for a long term investment, ie. capital growth and annual dividends but I'm not yet convinced that this is the ideal time.
I'll be following them all closely though to attempt to see signs of positivity.
