AirAsiaGo: Competition Making Travel Deals Affordable
Author: value_investor | Publish date: Thu, 2 Apr 2015, 11:43 AM | >> Read article in Blog website
Travel deals will be just as accessible and affordable as before the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) due to the current competitive landscape in the industry. AirAsiaGo.com, the online travel portal, said more hoteliers in Asia were working closely with online travel agents to give the best offers in terms of price and packages. General manager, Darren Goh, said the GST may be viewed as an additional cost or tax burden for the consumers. However, from the portal's point of view, it simply functioned as a replacement to the sales and service tax, he said. (Bernama)

AIRASIA was caught in a downward spiral which wiped off approximately 28% of its market value in barely two months.
However, the share price appears to have found a bottom at the strong support level of RM2.18 (S2). The key indicators such as RSI and Stochastics have rebounded from oversold territory, and coupled with above-average daily trading volume, we reckon that the share price is poised for a technical rebound. As such, traders who are looking to buy into the stock may target RM2.56 (R2).
Meanwhile, conservative investors may want to wait for the stock to consolidate towards RM2.30 (S1) before entering the stock.

OIC.... then you are saying free float and trading velocity not enough... in that case even when the market makers are giving you a 28% lower in 2 months... still not enough to excite you??

Anyway if market markets are giving such big discount.. 28% in 2 months... just to invite you to play... how can you refuse??
It is an offer which you cant refuse....

People who have bought into AirAsia recently had been shaken and stirred to their very core... as AirAsia had dropped.... and dropped at apparent support.... and dropped... and dropped at apparent support..... and dropped some more.... till wiped off approximately 28% of its market value in barely two months...... so confidence very fragile la.... ; )
But what have changed??? AirAsia Thailand is it a big deal??

Based on volume and ferocity of the selling.... doesn't look like the big big selling forces that caused the....... downward spiral which wiped off approximately 28% of its market value in barely two months...... are the ones at work.... today

... conservative investors may want to wait for the stock to consolidate towards RM2.30 (S1) before entering the stock.
To take advantage of...

Modern airplanes.. even cars.. are monitored and managed by on-board computers continuesly to the extent that they can fly/drive on their own i.e. auto pilot/driverless.
And.... these on-board computers have very powerful self diagnostic systems which will do critical tests on the plane's critical moving parts that may go wrong... to ensure its own well being... continuesly.. all the times.
Look at the most recent 4 cases of air disasters... In which one the plane was not a victim??
The plane... flew till its last drop of fuel.... gunned down in cold blood... turned upside down... detoured on purpose... respectively
All victims of humanity
Victims of humanity....

Anyway.... eventually everything will settle back to normal... and USD oil prices RM will fall/rise to their natural levels vis a vis each other
Simply put take advantage of situation while it lasts... hedge jet fuel now while it is low.... sell of the 150 airplanes and convert to RM while the USD is strong.... later pay off the USD loans when things are back to normal
Don't know how to simplify this any further....
2015-03-28 15:58 | Report Abuse
But.... if AirAsia sold its 150 planes now and immediately converted to RM it will immediately reap the benefits of high USD vs RM
2015-03-28 15:54 | Report Abuse
Actually strong USD doesn't hurt AirAsia that much ler as its USD loans are all very long term upto 14 years.... translation forex loss of the non current USD loans doesn't matter

2015-03-27 17:59 | Report Abuse
And.... of course.. the well known saving on jet fuel
According to results....
Aircraft fuel expenses
2013: 2,212,199,000
2014: 2,254,237,000
Say, fuel consumption remains more or less the same and say, the average jet fuel price has dropped a mere 25%.... last year's 115
2,254,237,000 × 0.25 = 563,559,250 saving for 2015
The saving due to low fuel price for 2015 would be 563,559,250
50% Hedged 50% Spot... Spot may reap more saving if hedge not done properly

As at now... OLH may want to put a lid on the prices least they mess with his scheme before SC
2015-03-27 15:57 | Report Abuse
And.... if the latest Q results to be released by US MNC were to show that they have been badly affected by the strong USD as expected.... you can bet Yellen will become dovish to the max...
and.... the 4 RM to 1 USD expectation will ease... will ease
2015-03-27 15:34 | Report Abuse
Sell the airplanes in USD... but don't pay off the USD loans... not now... as they are not due anyway
Covert to RM... keep.. when USD vs RM dropped in future then only convert to USD to pay off the USD loans
