Check their past records, making good profit till today with yearly dividend that is not bad at all, with Westport doing almost monopoly business, subsidiaries Gas Malaysia and Malakoff (with Alam Flora) in businesses with very high entry barrier. I do not care much about TA. For mid and long term investments (using only spare cash only), i just go for FA.

Yes, gold price is high and going higher. This company needs to manufacture it into jewelleries to sell them, converting them into sales revenue. In this pandemic (no one knows how long it lasts), and in severe economic down turn, can ordinary people have spare cash to buy them, instead of spending it on daily basic needs or saving cash for rainy days? When gold inventory is reduced, company has to replenish it too with more expensive lots to be purchased, so manufacturing cost will accordingly go up and so also finished items on sales in all their outlets. In MCO, sales in their shops or outlets will likely decline. Just a layman thought.

I invested last 4 to 5 years in mbsb heavily, thinklng that it is 60+% EPF owned, also it having golden fingers Chua Ma Yu and Cold Eye as its big shareholders and was attracted by its consistent 5 to 6% DY. Alamak, loss of my capital was much more than dividend received! Attended its AGM every year, hearing the same "positive" stories by the CEO (ex Perwaja staff) and seeing almost the same recycled power point presentation on business plan. Well, is ok, just part and parcel of investment risks.

Yes, that is the reasons why years ago Genting owners started investing heavily in US, Spore, UK, hopefully Japan in their gaming business and also in bioscience. These are the most advanced nation with huge critical mass and per capita income. They are in this business for over 50 years , surely not the limitations of putting their money in Msia alone.

Chokra...i invested quite a lot in mbsb since 2015, keep buying to averagr down Luckily took a bold decision to dump all around 67 cents last year, cut loss and move all to Maybank, Genting, LC Titan last year. Luckily covered back all losses with a litte profit. Today MBSB is still 60s sen level. CEO and managemet not good. Goid luck.
