Dips happen in all counters. But bad dips only happen to fundamentally bad counters as well as those with operators in them

Texchem is fundamentally sound and I do not (in my limited experience) see any kind of operator at work in Texchem (unlike, say, TAFI… similar climb, huge volume, hit double top and the rest is history)

There are uncertainties regarding ESOS. We will never know who exercise them but Texchem discloses the number if units exercised (read their announcements)

In my limited experience, the sectors for dividends will always be finance, consumer and property (including REITs). These 3 are the building blocks of any country. Interest rate may change, consumer prices and subsequent stinginess or demand to buy may change and owning properties (for own use and recurrent income) are bedrocks

I already mentioned I’m extra wary of commodity-dependent companies. The local plantation index must clear a 7,800 index. Next would be 8,200. If it breaks through confidently 8,200 (EMA Cross 7/21), then we’ll see a nice expressway

Calvin, there could be a variety of reasons why a director buys his company’s shares on a personal basis. Look at TS Lim Wee Chai… maybe his counter is a KLCI constituent and he doesn’t want it to fall below 1 buck…

You mentioned Texchem. I think you wrote an article almost 2 years ago where you mentioned their biz is related to Top Glove. Texchem limit up after your article and got a UMA. Texchem replied referencing your article and said what you covered was in their course of business. Their share price tanked after their Bursa reply and remained in the 50-60cts region for a long while before a spike followed by profit taking. It then went on a bull run from 0.735 (when I first bought and averaged up to 1.05 x 112k units)….

What matters is companies doing SBBs rather than directors buying shares. Don’t pay too much attention to directors or major shareholders buying shares…. The company itself doing SBB is more important. An apple a day is what keeps the sharks thinking you’re a vegetarian and stay away from you…
