Chin Aik off market 35m shares traded @ 0.34, if this is true, someone have an interest on sumatec. wonder will they even release who bought @0.34.

and investor willingly to bought higher than market price also means that, the investor believe in sumatec future. some more it was done even when pn17 havent lifted.

this could means that investor starting to have faith in sumatec. nice.. this two days the buying force are pretty strong.

hopefully this keeps up.

Yes....uplift from PN17 status by August/ September

Tan Sri Halim Saad, through his wholly-owned Markmore Sdn
Bhd, has signed a framework agreement with the Administration of the Mangystau
Province in Kazakhstan to build a US$700 million methanol plant in Kuryk.

Halim said the methanol plant, targeted for completion by 2017, was a key part of
monetising the large gas reserves in the Rakushechnoye Field, which is owned by the
Markmore Group, through its wholly-owned Kazakhstan subsidiary, CaspiOilGas LLP.

The gas reserve at the oil field is currently estimated at 535 billion cubic feet.

CaspiOilGas is the concession holder and operator of the Shelly oil field in Kazakhstan.
SRK Consulting (Australasia) Pty Ltd, a mining consultant, said in a report the Shelly oil field has "proved plus probable" hydrocarbon reserves of 122.3 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Repeating my old broken record with some updates.....Reminder to self: why do I invest in Sumatec?

1) Sumatec is now debt free.
2) After 2 consecutive quarters of profit, Sumatec can apply to be out of PN17 - whether get or not, up to Bursa, but usually apply saja, price can go up. Q4 2013 showed profit already.
3) Q1 2014 profit RM4.7mil (revenue RM13.7mil)....and the workover program still not finish yet. Very likely more profit for the following quarters after production from workover & sidetrack infill drilling. Good revenue from Rakushechnoye field...even though it's producing less than 1000 bbl/day right now as well as revenue from the gas sales.
4) Workover on the 12 idle wells already started to increase the production level, Once workover done, they will have 3 sidetracks (infill drilling) from existing idle wells to extract bypass oil. Target production end of 2014 = 2000 bbl/day. By Q1 2015, can have quarterly revenue of RM62mil.
5) Facts from ALL oil field worldwide. If you have 100% original oil in place (OOIP), you can only recover 15 - 20% of OOIP, due to diminishing bottom hole pressure, or water encroaching, or gas cusping, or scaling on the tubings, or block pore space near perforations area. The rest of the bypass oils can be extracted with infill drilling (new wells where the previous wells didn't cover) or workover ( acidizing, frack job, change tubing --- all to bring back production level up)
6) Rakushechnoye field started production in 1974 with 47 wells. Now only 5 wells producing - more to come after workover. This is a proven field, have oil (bypass etc), just need to do some work to increase production level.
7) Year 2015 will see some more work to increase the production level to between 4000 to 6000 bbl/day.
8) I have 17 years in the O&G industry, so why not use my knowledge and skills to evaluate Sumatec game plan...so far, I'm happy.
9) But, this is not a contra counter - you'll be dissappointed. Only for mid-long term investment if you want to grow with Sumatec.

As reported by Sumatec CEO, Mr Christopher Layton Dalton, “The increase in reserves is the first significant achievement for Sumatec with this asset. An additional 10 million barrels of oil is now available under 2P reserves to Sumatec (worth an estimated 175M USD* in net profit from oil sale) without paying any more than the initial 95M USD.”
This announcement is dated 23 June 2014.

*175M USD is based on 100USD per bbl Brent Price of Oil and 35USD per bbl net profit of which Sumatec is entitled to 50% of, after two million bbls of oil has been produced.

Need to clear something for you all, Sumatec took over the field and they announced their first production to their book after takeover date of 25 Jan. Current production of Sumatec is 150 bbl/day - this is the production with the old wells (total 47 wells with only 5 wells producing) under the previous operator. They just started workover around 2nd May 2014, and the work is ongoing. Since Jan until early May, Sumatec has been preparing for the workover ops with facilities upgrade etc. Once all is said and done, the workover wells (12 wells) and sidetrack drilling (3 wells) should bring the production level to 2000 bbl/day by end 2014....further development plan to bring to 4000-5000 bbl/day by end 2015, and up to 8000 bbl/dag by 2016.

You can see the rig photos. It's a Cardwell KB500 workover / drilling rig. It's a small rig, so daily cost is not that bad, probably between USD15K to USD25K per day. Even though it's small, the rig has good technical capability to drill sidetrack wells. So, things are moving...now waiting for news on the results of the first workover well.

Sumatec Resources Berhad is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Sumatec Oil & Gas LLP and its business
partner CaspiOilGas LLP commenced rig operations on 30th April 2014. This is a significant step in ramping up
the production from the Rakushechnoye Field. The preparation work for the workover program started in
February 2014 involving improvements to the road access and pad locations around each wellhead. Formation
Evaluation (Wireline Logging) was conducted to gather downhole formation and pressure information which is
crucial in achieving the higher production target.
The first workover well is expected to be completed and producing within three weeks, with the whole
program planned to take four months, ending in August 2014 with twelve wells on production.
By the end of 2014, Sumatec plans to have fifteen wells on production as the rig will be used to drill three side
tracks after the workover program has finished. Sumatec expects to achieve its 2014 target of 2000bbls/day
from these fifteen wells.

Sumatec CEO Chris Dalton says with 10% of the oilfield explored, the area currently operable has a reserve of some 1.54 trillion cubic feet of gas.

“The development for gas exploration will be in three phases. The developmental phase will begin in 2014, with the implementation scheduled thereafter in 2015 and supply to begin in 2017,” he says.

Chan said at present the gas reserves were only from the northern part of the field, representing only 10 per cent of the total area, and there was potential for the southern part to have much higher oil and gas reserves.

IN 1-2 YEARS.....SUMATEC RM2-RM5.....

oil production from the Rakushechnoye oil field is expected to reach more than 2,000 barrels per day by December this year and will triple in two years.
Meanwhile, Kenmakmur's NLG plant, expected to be completed within two years, will process natural gas from the Rakushechnoye oil field. 
It will extract liquefied natural gas and naphtha from the gas before sending the lean gas as feedstock to a methanol plant currently being developed by the Markmore Group.
The plant will have a processing capacity of 100 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. Gas production is expected to start in 2017 as the oil production increases beyond 6,000 barrels per day.
Kenmakmur Executive Director James Chan said the large gas reserves in Rakushechnoye could bring a lot of value to Sumatec Resources Bhd, which is operating the oil field.
