@Chung : I might have different thought. Quarter report didn't out maybe an indication that the result is bad. However, director might prefer to delay the issuance to avoid so many question during AGM. Nevertheless, i can look at ICON too.

When i see the latest annual report, Perdana had secured contract for many of their vessel from Q3 2019 to 2021. Their balance sheet should be getting cleaner in Q1 from the debt restructuring.

Another thing is the utilisation rate of their vessel. Last year Q1 utilisation rate is below 40% and Q3 and Q4 utilisation above 70%. The increase in utilisation rate is mainly due to contract secured from Q3 and Q4 last year and they do secured contract in Jan'2020. If the company able to increase sales and control their cost, i think the result will be favourable.

Q1 2020: Average CPO price 2.7k, still PBT
Q1 2019 Average CPO price 2k : LBT
Q4 2019 : Average CPO price 2.4k, LBT

Means bplant need to above 2.5k, to break even. The revenue in Bplant is simple: price (CPO price where you can monitor at MPOB) times quantity (depends on performance of the plant). If you see CPO price today, do you think Bplant can make money in quarter 2?

Maybe yes if they can increase the quantity. But presumably that plantation sector will have higher FFB in q3 and q4.

CPO n PK price still good < you can refer to past quarter. Can bplant earn profit when CPO price is below RM2,300 (quarter 1 average based on MPOB website)
Dividend paid awesome : If lose money how to pay dividend. Last year dividend is one of gain on the disposal of land.

Don't forget this company is doing upstream business which is heavily relying on the CPO and PK price. Q1 might be good but quarter 2 CPO price is below 2.5k.

Well, plantation sector is bullish. But don't forget that Bplant have a land in Sabah which is not performing well which led in impairment in previous quarter. If they can't improve the productivity in the land, i think the carrying amount will be lesser than fair value of the land which will led to another round of impairment under FRS 136.

Well. I think the company still got hope. They can distribute dividend for few years despite the cpo price is low. The bad decision is the land they bought recently. If their company is bad, they can't be having a company with one of the highest OER in one of their estate.

You can have the land but you also need good management to grow the land. Unless you sell all your lands which is not part of their business activity.
