Just read the announcement of the lawsuit. Does anyone know what is the upper limit of the award if the case does not go in their favour? Normally, Mat Salleh won't sue unless they know their case is strong or they can 'pusing' into their favour.

Stock recently Down-Graded by Kenanga:
We came back from a visit to KPJ Healthcare (KPJ) feeling less sanguine about its prospects for the next few quarters due to start-up losses from the opening of new hospitals and higher operating costs. The key takeaways from the visit include the followings:- (i) management shed some light on 4Q13/FY13 results, which raise a few eyebrows, (ii) expansion plans going forward, (iii) earnings growth is expected to be pedestrian over the next few quarters, and (iv) neutral impact from the recent doctors’ fee hike. We downgrade our FY14 and FY15 net profits by 4.7% and 7.5%, respectively, after taking into account the higher-than-expected losses and operating costs from newly start-up hospitals. Correspondingly, our TP is cut by 4% from RM2.80 to RM2.67 based on unchanged 23.5x FY14 EPS. Maintain UNDERPERFORM.

The article in Edge sparked my interest in this counter. My concern is that the Cash Recycling Machines are also available from current ATM market leaders and have proven track record like NCR. How successful can OpenSys, being the new player in the ATM field, capture market share from the current providers?

Icon888, thanks for your analysis. Completely agree with your valuation/target price. This is supported by the current NTA which will increase over the coming quarters.
If the analysis is done, comparing to same quarter last financial year, the financials has improved significantly across the board. Mid-term, should break the RM2.00 level.
I will be holding this stock and accumulating more on weakness.

Studying the changes in substantial shareholders & directors holding, they have been steadily increasing their shareholdings. Which makes me wonder one of two things; they are betting the lifting of PN17 status soon or consider taking the company private and de-listing from KLSE.
Both will be good:
If lifting of PN17 - Stock will go up, look at Adventa last week.
If Buy-Out - normally priced at 1.2 times of NTA; this will indicate a price of around RM1.70
Before I throw everything I have into ECM; are there any other thoughts? Please advice.

All the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, COO and Senior Management Team must be held accountable. Immediate dismissal is in order. If on the Menteri Besar of Selangor was in charge of Khazanah, he is the only one with balls to fire staff.
Complete audit to see where every cent went and compare expenses incurred with market rate. I have a feeling the rakyat's tax money has been taken for a ride.

With such bad results, the CEO must consider Harakiri on himself!!! No face, better die!!!

Made money here before and am re-looking at this counter. Noticed that the last quarter sales figure drop and the profits took a dive. Was there a one off transaction? Any Ãnside 'on current quarter? If current quarter is good, stock looking cheap. But if still down, could stay at this level for some time. Any advice?

Didn't reach my target price. Have to wait for the second dividend announcement.

I am also waiting for a correction to pick up some more. Push share down to scare holders to sell while they accumulate. Than sky rocket.

Icon & Seph, looks like I will see you guys there sooner. The stock is being accumulated. Record close last few days with daily volume above average. :)

I studied this counter and agree it is under valued based on the share price and the net asset value. Decided not to go in as the Directors are taking millions in Salary & Allowances and the company is making millions in losses. If the Directors remove their Salary & Allowances the company will be profitable. If the Directors are serious and have shareholders interest at heart the will reduce their benefits. Based on this, I decided this is not the time to go into this counter.I will wait for 3 consecutive quarters of profit before going in.

3 cents every quarter still provides excellent yield. What is the TP for this stock over the long term, by year end? I am thinking around RM2.40~RM2.50 if it can continue giving quarterly dividends of 3 cents per quarter.

No need to rush in. Watch first. It will stay around this level for a while. Concern on how will the rate cut in Thailand and the protest impact their performance there. Might see a bit more selling pressure.

As a whole, Malaysian banking stocks will be weak in 1H2014. Due to slowdown in mortgages (except that already done for progress placements), BNM new responsible guidelines making it harder to approve new loans, Fed tapering etc.
As an investor, long term view still okay to invest as the dividend yields look still look good. But I would recommend holding off buying banking stocks for the time being.
As for CIMB, the new placement was made at RM7.10, so I would expect the share to trade downwards towards that RM7.10 as that is the current 'agreed' valuation.

What's happening here? Nice volume over the last few days. I see a mix of ''good news coming'' and 'stay away, goreng' comments.
Fundamentals don't look very good. But if can fly, why not....after all, Bursa is Malaysia's largest casino. Hehehe

The announcement first came out in August on the sale of the Singapore unit and distribution of the proceeds. At that time the stock was trading at around 0.135. With the total distribution of 0.08, it can be said the current valuation has already taken into account the current dividend and the partial dividend of the second distribution of gains.
I am hoping the stock will be around 0.22 prior to ex-date. At current prices, still provides good returns. 0.04 in January and 0.04 in a few months time, a cash return of almost 40% and still having the stock at hand.
The balance sheet will be cleaned up, and we can get more dividends in the long term. This is not a stock for trading but for investing.

Looking at previous AGM announcement, they had said would be end of last year. Better get it done before next AGM......otherwise will kena kau2 from minority shareholders.

Agree with Spindrift, will probably rise everyday until ex-date. Those who bought will tell their friends and increase interest in the stock. Should at a minimum touch 0.23 before ex-date. If not will be worst off than yesterday after the ex-date.
Spindrift, where did you hear about the additional dividend in a few months time. That would be more than 40% return. Yeap, sell everything and buy Ancomlb. LOL

The funny thing is more and more people starting to sell at RM0.20. Before picking up some more, is there something I am missing as the dividend yield is excellent......good enough to want to mortgage my house and dump everything to earn the 20% yield in a couple of weeks. Hehehe
Anyway good to see the high trading volume seems to have attracted a lot of buyers and maybe those who bought some time back just want to get out. Than in a few weeks, regret and ask themselves, "Why when I sell the price goes up?"
2014-01-07 09:20 | Report Abuse
Why didn't the price reflect the dividend today? I would have expected it to be up 0.04 from yesterday close and set a new 52 week high in the morning.

Will go below .90. With the bonus issue and issuance of new shares for TESB, will put pressure on the NTA and the dividend yield. Value investors might run.

After budget all property stocks have not been doing well. The price has been adjusted downwards based on the bonus issue of 1 free for every 2. Those who got the stock before the ex date have to revise their average price based on the bonus issue.

DRB-Hicom (CP: RM2.60): 1Q profit plunges 68.5% yoy to RM10.3m
DRB-Hicom reported a net profit of RM10.3 million for the first quarter to June
30, a fall of 68.5% year on year. Its revenue also fell to RM3.05 billion from
RM3.46 billion. Reviewing its results, the diversified group said the decrease in
revenue was due to lower sales in the automotive sector caused by
unfavourable market sentiment during the quarter. But revenue for its services
sector increased by 0.74% to 644 million while revenue for its property, asset
and construction sector increased by 24% to RM77 million due to greater
progress in our development projects. DRB-Hicom said lower profit was due to
higher interest cost as compared to last year’s corresponding quarter.
Wonder how this will effect the stock price?
