@prudentinvestor, this is not true, you shall look at the first 1H 2021 Maybank PBT was about 45% more than 1H 2020. If 2020 MBB is able to gave 52c dividend, they can still well afford to pay the same for 2021 even offset with the cukai makmur. In other words, MBB can actually pay more due to stronger performance in 2021.

Sslee, agreed that is the quarantine required. So i really doubt if someone here said he can travel 90 trips last year without factor in quarantine.

For you small little brain info, if you had one, before covid, i almost travelled weekly or bi-monthly and cover about 100 flights in 2 years. That is for work not travel for fun.

now only those who really need to fly (business, study or migration) will do so. Otherwise generally are still adopting wait and see approach or just go for local road trip will do. How is this impact to airline business?

i always have a question in mind. There is no insurance plan for tourism now. Example if you travel to oversea for holiday with family, and touch wood one of your family member fall in sick with covid, (this passenger will not able to board the plane due to covid) , so what do you do? Send to local hospital or can self quarantine at hotel or what is plan B?
until this is address, people will lack of interest to fly oversea as we dont know what to do if a person infected at oversea and how much money you need to allocate for extended stay.

Probably AA is another unicorn in making, no doubt. But valuation $10b is only a valuation, that doesnt mean you have $10b in the bank. Today even Uber is making loss in order to expand market share. If AA wanted to break into food delivery biz to fight with Grab, Shopee...etc how much more money need to dump in? and where does money come from? Pls think, people.
