A wait and see approach would be better.
One more quarter in the red will hammer Parkson down to RM0.20.

Previously when founder Yong buys, Padini price will gradually rise over a few mths. It could be a buy signal.
But then again, Padini faces competition against establishments eg. H&M & online clothes sellers, eg. Taobao.
Will Padini bcome Parkson 2.0? Or will it continue to reach new heights, eg revenue & profits?
Interesting times ahead.

I have to agree with @soojinhou that there are various methods of winning in the stockmarke. There is no one definite correct way.
It is up to the individual, whether to hold long term, or trade in short term, to pick the best or just pretty good ones.
Although @(S = Qr) Philip is the new God of i3investor whom we hero-worship, it is clear he can be stubborn at times, dismissing some good & practical ideas from other forumers.
Disclaimer, I have nothing against (S = Qr) Philip. He has in-depth stock analysis and time-tested past record with his stock picks and practises what he preaches.
Forums should be lively with though-provoking ideas with forumers constantly challenging each other's views. Hopefully forumers won't stop sharing just because their ideas might not be accepted by some.

oh come on, it's not all doom and gloom is it? ICAP's portfolio has done not too badly overall.
For shareowners holding for a long time & getting no returns, probably a time to let go some and invest elsewhere if you are done with TTB.
For newcomers, probably a low risk defensive stock that never sinks, unlike O&G, plantations, constructions, etc.
But I concur that TTB is running short on time. He should stop timing the market. In the event in 2025 that ICAP has a price range of around RM2.50-RM3.00 to its NTA while other stocks continue rising, it would spell the end of his base of supporters.

Ridiculous price.
Unreasonable for Bplant to be at RM0.90 when FGV is at RM0.895.
Bplant is so much better than FGV in fundamentals.

What a far cry from its glory days.
Used to be RM12 five years ago & a solid dividend stock too.
Since then, Amway has been on a continuous downtrend.
Until its profits suddenly surge, I think the downtrend might continue until below RM5.
The dividends might be tempting then.

Genting NEVER SAID they would be able to OPEN the theme park by 2019. They merely confirmed that they would continue to finish the theme park despite not having Fox themed-park.
CEO Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay said the theme park “remains very much part of our plans” and while the group had initially targeted to open the park in January, plans are “all in place”.

Counter arguments against Calvintan:
1. High PE, does not translate directly to 'grossly overvalued'.
2. Amanah Saham Bumi sell doesn't mean you following suit.
1.Premium PE for QL is mainly due to the market confidence in QL. One reason is QL's fantastic record of producing a profit EVERY QUARTER since 2009. Look at Nestle's sky high PE. Nestle is also a business which has proven track record of earnings, just like QL. Quantitative wise, QL might be overvalued but you get what you pay for. Rare to see a good company selling cheap.
2. WHY YOU MUST SELL - "BECAUSE AMANAH SAHAM BUMI HAS SOLD AND LEFT ALREADY"
This reasoning is crazy. Your buy-sell depends on this? QL made 2 consecutive increasing quarterly profits against FY2018 along with increasing revenues.
Shouldn't optimism set in & lead to a buy call instead of a sell?
P.S.- Watch out when you say "DID QL DIRECTORS LEARNT FROM THE CROOKS IN TABUNG HAJI?" You are imputing QL directors as dishonest people. This harms QL's reputation on a wide scale on a publicly-accessible platform like i3investor.

Very unpopular opinion in Malaysia. But I like it.
Property investment takes up a huge chunk of capital from an individual, for a long period with little certainty that a future buyer will buy it from you when there are other similar units available.
Money is stagnant in one place and not liquid. The hassle of obtaining a property and disposing it is tedious and time-consuming.
Especially now, one cannot simply flip properties as there is new tax on property.
But of course, if one doesn't buy a property despite capable of owning one, he/she will be subjected to endless queries from family&friends.

If Calvin Tan can say Buy Buy Buy, I also can say "MPHB, Risky Stock To Play With!".
Objectively speaking, MPHB's 3 quarters in FY2018 generated less profit than the 1st quarter in FY2017. 1st quarter FY2018 made a FIRST LOSS in a quarter since 2013!
Has the fundamentals changed? I don't know. But I know the following.
Look at how PADINI & KESM got hammered down. Sharp decrease in profits -> Investors lost confidence -> Share price drops. Any profit less than 60M in coming quarter, MPHB will earn less profit than last year. Shareholders will lose confidence. Share price will drop <RM1.
Using MPHB'S technical stock chart, MPHB share price kept falling after 23 Aug 2018. Clearly investors are pessimistic on MPHB's prospects, in the near term at least.
Please DO NOT FOLLOW CALVINTAN BLINDLY.

If people say yes, do you continue to hold Genting shares?
Will you regret if Genting drops to RM5.00 in 6 months time?
Or if price flies back to RM8.00 level at the end of the year, will you be thankful you didn't sell now?
I'm not an expert trader. But I know ultimately the decision is one of this.
1. Cut loss now. If you can confidently buy a sure-win stock which can cover your loss.
2. Hold. So that later you can sell at breakeven (sell same price as your buying price) or maybe a profit.
3. Sell. You desperately need money now.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'd say your investment approach mirrors that of Buffett. You buy and accumulate stocks of great businesses and hold for the long term. I believe some readers would quietly buy some QL shares after seeing the in-depth discussion here.

True that prices are high. I just prefer a safer route, i.e. guaranteed rental rather than REITs undergoing transformation like CMMT.
Of course, the lower the price paid, the better the chances of capital appreciation and reduced risks of loss.
Just my personal preference that I'd choose certainty over uncertainty.
