Why so many people concern about Directors selling little of their shares?

They can buy or sell their shares for many purposes.

When they sell mean Company’s share price will drop? Or buying mean share price will go up soon?

Major shareholder and Director of Gadang bought Gadang at RM1.29 for 1 million shares early May 2017. Gadang now traded at RM1.23.

How are you gonna explain?

Aemulus Holdings Bhd expects to post a profit this year based on the strong business outlook for the rest of the current financial year.

The Penang-based test equipment manufacturer said the growing global semiconductor market and improved global economic outlook will drive its growth.

“We are positive and optimistic. Our latest quarterly results reflect positively on our operations returning to profitability this year,” CEO and ED Ng Sang Beng told The Malaysian Reserve.

For the first-quarter of financial year ended Sept 30, 2017 (1QFY17), Aemulus reported a net profit of RM629,000 compared to a net loss of RM1.9 million in the previous corresponding period, on the back of an increased revenue of RM5.6 million versus RM2.7 million a year ago.

The ACE Market-listed Aemulus reported a net loss of RM2.74 million for FY16, slightly more than a year after listing on Sept 15, 2015.

Based on its latest 3Q ended June 30 results, Aemulus registered a fivefold increase in net profit to RM2.5 million as revenue doubled to RM12 million from RM5.5 million in the previous corresponding quarter, driven by growing demand from the enterprise storage, smartphone and tablet (S

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): Global chip sales for 2017 is expected to reach US$397 billion, which would top the record of US$339 billion set last year, according to the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS).

WSTS, which tracks chip sales, has revised its forecast for 2017 semiconductor sales, saying it now expects growth of 17% compared with 2016.

The organisation had initially forecast that chip sales would increase by 11.5% this year.

The revision by WSTS is in line with the forecasts of various other industry groups.

WSTS bases its forecasts and sales reports on data provided by more than 50 semiconductor company members.

The forecast by WSTS was reported by Electronic Engineering Times yesterday and is found on the website of the U.S-based Semiconductor Equipment

Catching the next big wave

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): The Edge weekly in its latest edition said that joining the US tech stock rally, Bursa Malaysia-listed semiconductor and semiconductor-related companies have risen between 22% and 250% this year.

In its cover story, the Edge’s Liew Jia Teng wrote that year to date, the Bursa Malaysia Technology Index has soared 70% to 37.59 points, its highest level since 2005.

Local technology companies and investors are bullish about the sector’s prospects, mainly due to its long-term earnings sustainability, underpinned by the diversification of products and customer base, reported the Edge.

The weekly reported that 2017 is promising to be another good year for the semiconductor supply chain with device, material and equipment suppliers expecting revenue and earnings growth for the year.

It said according to information technology research and advisory firm Gartner Inc, worldwide semiconductor revenue is forecast to total US$386 billion this year, an increase of 12.3% from last year.

Favourable market conditions that gained momentum in the second half of 2016, particularly for commodity memory, have accelerated and raised the outlook for the market in 2017 and 2018.

Unit production estimates for premium smartphones, graphic cards, video game consoles and automotive applications have improved and contributed to the stronger outlook this year.

Gartner also projected global semiconductor capital spending to increase 10.2% to US$77.7 billion this year.

“This growth rate is up from the previous quarter’s forecast of 1.4% due to continued aggressive investment in memory and leading-edge logic, which is driving spending in wafer-level equipment,” it said in an Aug 2 press release on its 2Q2017 update.

It added that the concentration this year is due to strong manufacturing demand in memory and leading-edge logic.

On a separate note, global microelectronics industry association SEMI projects that the semiconductor material market will expand 2% this year in light of growth expectations for the device market.

Market forecasts for the semiconductor market this year are also optimistic, with growth projections ranging from 3% to 11%. Given current capital expenditure announcements and the strong equipment order activity throughout 2H2016, prospects for the semiconductor equipment subsector look bright as well.

3QFY9/17: Boost from enterprise tester demand
■ 9MFY9/17 core net profit beat our/Bloomberg consensus estimates, at 85%/104% of
FY17F forecasts, due to higher-than-expected tester volume shipment in 3QFY9/17.
■ It reported a core net profit of RM5.4m in 9MFY9/17, compared to a RM0.5m core net
loss in 9MFY9/16, due to higher RF and enterprise storage tester shipment volumes.
■ We raise our FY17-19F EPS by 15-19% to reflect higher tester shipment volumes.
■ We expect stronger demand for RF tester in 4QFY17, driven by production ramp-up
ahead of new flagship smartphone model launches and a new customer win in China.

3QFY9/17 core net profit boosted by enterprise tester demand
Revenue in 3QFY9/17 rose 118% yoy to reach RM12m on the back higher tester
shipment volumes due to improving demand in enterprise storage, and smartphone and
tablet (S&T) markets. The group’s EBITDA margin expanded 19.8% pts yoy to reach
25.3%. As a result of higher operating leverage, Aemulus posted a higher core net profit of RM2.7m in 3QFY9/17 compared to RM0.1m in 3QFY9/16.

Sequential earnings improvement in 3QFY9/19
3QFY9/17 revenue grew 11% qoq due to higher enterprise tester shipment volumes on
the back of improving demand for enterprise storage. We estimate the group sold five
units of AE4600 testers in 3QFY17 vs. three units in 2QFY17. Overall, its core net profit in 3QFY17 grew 15.8% qoq, after stripping out the unrealised forex losses of RM0.3m. As expected, there was no dividend declared for the quarter.

9MFY9/17 results beat expectations
In 9MFY9/17, revenue rose 77.1% yoy due to higher tester shipment volumes on the
back of a successful automated tester equipment design win for a tier-1 smartphone
company and demand recovery across the enterprise storage and S&T segments.
Aemulus shipped eight units of AE4600 tester in 9MFY9/17, which already exceeds the
two units that it shipped for the whole of FY16. Overall, Aemulus recorded a core net profit of RM5.4m in 9MFY9/17 against a core net loss of RM0.5m in 9MFY9/16.
Raise FY17-19F EPS by 15-19%

We raise our FY17-19F EPS by 15-19% to account for an 10-15% increase in tester
shipment volumes for the AE4600 and AE7600 models, and margin expansion from
higher utilisation. We believe Aemulus is on track for an earnings recovery in FY17F, driven by improving demand outlook in the global semiconductor industry as independent market research groups are projecting 13% sales growth in 2017 (vs. 1.1% in 2016).

Aemulus expects “significant revenue growth” to continue.

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): The ACE Market-listed group Aemulus Holdings Bhd is riding high on the growing demand for semiconductors. This is evidenced in its latest quarterly financial numbers.

Its net profit for the third financial quarter ended June 30, 2017 (3QFY17) jumped 411% to RM2.5 million compared with RM480,000 a year ago.

Quarterly revenue climbed 118% to RM12 million from RM5.5 million previously thanks to the growing demand from the enterprise storage and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) segments which are continuously driving the top-line performance.

The Penang-based test equipment manufacturer, whose share price has more than tripled, expects the revenue from the enterprise storage division to soar three folds in the current financial year ending Sept 31, 2017, and revenue from its ATE division to also exceed the amount achieved in FY15 and FY16, according to its filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Aemulus attributed the improved sales to the strong sales growth in the Far East region which has been encouraging.

“The double digit revenue growth target set by the group for this region remains unchanged,” it said.

During this quarter, the revenue for the enterprise storage segment increased about 89% compared with the preceding quarter.

“We do not expect significant revenue growth for this segment in the next quarter after three consecutive quarters of sales increment,” it said.

Nevertheless, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Aemulus said the fiscal year revenue for this market segment relative to 2016 is expected to increase threefold.

For the cumulative nine-month period ended June 30, 2017, Aemulus reported a net profit of RM5.5 million from a net loss of RM917,000 while revenue was up 77% to RM28.3 million from RM16 million a year earlier.

The group attributed the increase in earnings to the orders from the three segments and the hike in profit.

Commenting on its prospects, Aemulus said the group has taken steps to hedge against foreign exchange risk from this quarter onward.

“We’re very conservative in terms of our investments today. Of course, we may have a look at some of these (technology companies) in future. But, at the back of my mind, the concern is that our contributors get a good deal from the investment.

“We’re always very careful. The EPF is the largest fund for all employees and we’re very concerned over their money,” he told reporters after the launch of the International Social Security Conference 2017 on Wednesday.

SEOUL: Samsung Electronics on Thursday reported an 88.9 percent jump in its second quarter net profit, boosted by demand for its memory chips and a rise in smartphone sales as the firm seeks to move on from last year’s recall debacle.

Jul 20, 2017
Taiwan is the world’s largest consumer of semiconductor materials for the seventh consecutive year, bringing new opportunities in this increasingly critical sector.

According to the SEMI Material Market Data Report, Taiwan’s semiconductor materials consumption was US$9.8 billion in 2016 − the world’s largest. Global semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached US$13.1 billion in Q1 2017, exceeding the record quarterly high set in Q3 2000. These figures signal that application drivers will continue to drive the development of a supply chain feeding their manufacturing processes, equipment and materials.

Semiconductor Equipment Growth Stays Massive: 5 Stocks to Buy for Now and 2018
Jul 17, 2017 by Wallstreet

It would seem like the incredible growth in semiconductors and the equipment used to make them would slow down after a torrid last few years. Surprisingly, or however, 3D NAND and foundry spending remains very strong. If the positive tone at the recently finished Semicon West is any indication, the strength in the chip and chip equipment sector is poised to stay — and not just this year, but possibly well into 2018.

In a new research report from Stifel, the financial services firm acknowledges that much of the sectors good data and trends are factored in, but it continues to stay very positive on the top chip equipment companies on a near-term and long-term basis.

Taiwan raises 2017 growth forecast to three-year high amid iPhone

DEBBY WU, Nikkei staff writer

TAIPEI -- Taiwan has raised the forecast for its economic growth this year to a three-year high, due to strong demand for semiconductor products and anticipation of the 10th anniversary edition of Apple's iPhone.

Taiwan's Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said Friday it now expects gross domestic product, the broadest measure of economic activity, to expand 2.05% this year, up from the previous estimate of 1.92% in February.

"Taiwan's semiconductor industry enjoys an edge [over other global rivals], and there is growing demand for chips for use in automotive electronics, connected devices and artificial intelligence, and these will all help our exports," Chu Tzer-ming, a minister in the statistics agency, told reporters on Friday.

It is the second time the agency has raised its guidance since November.
